Darcey Croft is an experienced midwife, maternal mental health advocate, and mother of four, dedicated to transforming perinatal care. With over a decade of hands-on experience, including delivering her grandchild during an unexpected roadside birth, Darcey combines clinical expertise with real-life understanding and compassion.
Specialising in maternal mental & infant health, trauma-informed care and complex birth planning, Darcey’s expertise focuses on reducing negative birth experiences and increasing positive ones. She emphasises that mental wellness during pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood is as crucial as physical health.
Darcey's commitment to improving maternal care has led to innovations in often overlooked areas. Her development of Isomum, an energy drink for pregnancy and birth, addresses long-neglected needs. This innovation, along with Mothermind, a platform for mental preparation in pregnancy and birth, and her support of women, earned her recognition as a finalist for Best UK Midwife and Entrepreneur of the Year.
Author of "Calm Waters", Darcey offers evidence-based strategies for positive birth outcomes. Her expertise extends to policy-making, serving as a UN Delegate for the Status of Women and contributing to NICE Guidelines. Currently, she's leading research on early screening and treatment of postpartum PTSD.
