Dietitian Carrie BSc PhD
Carrie is a dietitian, academic and health writer who loves to make nutrition science accessible and fun for everyone. She’s passionate about getting more people to eat a healthy, balanced diet as part of their daily busy lives.
Carrie gives a big thumbs down to faddy diets, guilt trips, expensive foodie products that you can only buy in posh city shops, weird, tanned food influencers who never seem to eat anything, and avoiding whole food groups.
Instead, she’s a big fan of eating more fruit, veggies, wholegrains, lean proteins and dairy foods as well as taking recommended supplements especially vitamin D and folic acid. Carrie eats most things – even cake – but doesn’t overdo it. Being a mum of two grown up kids, she’s ‘got the t-shirt’ when it comes to navigating food fussiness, tantrums and teenage diet crazes.
As a freelancer, Carrie gets to work with lots of food companies and organisations helping them to develop healthier products and communicate science. She also publishes academic papers on nutrition, speaks at conferences and appears on radio and TV.
