Dr Frankie Harrison is a Clinical Psychologist, NICU parent, and co-founder of Miracle Moon and The NICU Space. Her journey into supporting parents who have been through neonatal care began from a personal place, her own unexpected NICU experience in 2019, when her baby was born at 31 weeks. This experience fuelled her passion to create a compassionate community where NICU parents could find support, feel seen, and know they’re not alone.

Frankie combines her professional expertise with her personal journey as a NICU parent to offer compassionate, evidence-based support for families facing the unique challenges of neonatal care and birth trauma. Her work is anchored in a commitment to ensuring that no NICU parent feels alone in their journey, providing support through tailored individual sessions, group support, community resources, and public advocacy.

Through her one-to-one sessions, Frankie specialises in trauma processing with EMDR, tailoring each session to meet clients’ specific needs. She also facilitates quarterly group support for past NICU parents, creating a safe space for shared experiences and healing.

Frankie co-founded The NICU Space, an online community that provides NICU parents with vital resources and support. The platform offers:

Community and Professional Support: A network of NICU parents and professionals providing guidance, empathy, and insight.

Resource Library: A comprehensive collection of resources covering the NICU journey from initial stay to years beyond.

Courses and Events: Hosts the Health Anxiety Course, sessions on navigating birthdays and trauma anniversaries, and upcoming topics like pregnancy after NICU or birth trauma, maintaining relationships, and returning to work.

Her additional resources, such as the Health Anxiety Handbook and Pregnancy After Trauma Workbook, provide NICU parents with actionable tools to manage anxiety and trauma.

In her podcast, The NICU Space by Miracle Moon, Frankie sheds light on the emotional impact of NICU and birth trauma, exploring topics such as perinatal mental health, recovery, and resilience. Each episode offers a mix of professional insights, personal experiences, and real stories to build connection and awareness.

Beyond her direct work with parents, Frankie is dedicated to advocacy. She leads workshops, webinars, and conferences, speaks at public events, and writes blogs to bring attention to the needs of parents who have experienced NICU or birth trauma, collaborating with organisations to ensure these parents receive the understanding and support they deserve.
