Lucy Upton
Lucy is a leading UK Paediatric Dietitian and Nutritionist with over 15 years of experience in the NHS, private sector, public health, and industry. She is dedicated to supporting babies, children, and their families to find joy and health through food, nutrition, and mealtimes while dispelling the overwhelming misinformation surrounding children's feeding. Her front-line dietetics and nutrition expertise enables her to offer evidence-based and practical guidance to families. Lucy has extensive experience in nutrition and feeding, having worked in both the NHS and private sector, including a large children’s hospital and a specialised feeding clinic.
Lucy is now the director of her consultancy service, The Children’s Dietitian Ltd, which supports children and their families in her clinics by providing courses, resources, and empowerment through education. She also works for a charity supporting children with significant feeding differences and provides hands-on feeding therapy.
Her special areas of interest include early years nutrition, food allergies, fussy eating, feeding difficulties, weaning, coeliac disease, constipation, growth concerns or those requiring medical nutrition support. She also supports essential work within the early years nutrition arena in her role at The Infant and Toddler Forum. She enjoys her job's diversity, working with brands or individuals like Pots for Tots, Rebecca Wilson (What Mummy Makes), Tilda Rice, and Pampers, amongst many others. Lucy is visible across several popular social platforms and will pop up regularly in the written press or on the BBC Breakfast sofa. Her debut book ‘The Ultimate Guide to Children’s Nutrition’ is being released in 2025!
Between her business and being a mum to her daughter Aurelia, if she has any free time left, she enjoys being outdoors, at Pilates or baking and trying out new recipes with her daughter.
