When it comes to baby names, parents can tear their hair out searching for the right one.
Do you go down the classical route? Look to Biblical names for inspiration? Wander around the streets demanding random strangers tell you their grandparents’ names?Or dedicate precious evenings to consulting reams and reams of internet forum threads all debating the advantages of Isabel over Isabelle?
One thing’s for sure: if you’re a celebrity, the normal rules don’t apply. Beyonce hasn't let the fact she's the only person in the world with her name hold her back. Whoopi Goldberg wouldn’t be the larger-than-life character we all know and love without her overly optimistic-sounding moniker. Shia LaBeouf is… well, the less said about Shia LaBeouf the better.
Here we’ve collected the most outlandish names celebrity parents have given their children. Will you be inspired? Or are bizarre names a big no-no in your book?

Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green named their son Journey River Green. He has two biological brothers, Noah Shannon Green and Bodhi Ransom Green and one stepbrother.

Bunny
Judging by Katie Price's previous children's names - Harvey, Princess Tiaamii, Junior and Jett - her latest newborn was always going to have an unusual name. Katie and her husband Kierna Hayler settled on Bunny, which the former glamour model describes as 'an old-fashioned name'.
Olive
There has been a trend for foodstuff-related baby names of late (Gwyneth and Chris Martin were the front runners), with Drew Barrymore calling her baby born this year Olive. So why the unusual choice of name? Apparently, it all came from a book. 'I was reading a book with my husband. I was three months pregnant, and they said, "Your baby is the size of an olive." And that was it. We never looked back,' Drew said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Bear Blaze
Kate Winslet's third child, and first with new husband Ned RocknRoll, was named Bear. We wonder if he'll be taking his father's surname, in which case he'd be Bear Blaze RocknRoll...
Blue Ivy
Beyonce and Jay Z welcomed baby Blue into the world on January 7th 2012, and the world was predictably a little baffled by their name choice. But Beyonce hinted at the inspiration behind the name on her Tumblr, posting an extract from Rebecca Solnit's novel A Field Guide to Getting Lost, which contains the poetic lines: ‘The light that gets lost, gives us the beauty of the world, so much of which is in the colour blue.’
Apple
We probably think of Apple as the go-to weird celebrity baby name, don’t we? It just seemed like such an odd choice for Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin when their daughter was born in 2004. Gwyneth attempted to explain their rationale on Oprah, saying: ‘It sounded so sweet and it conjured such a lovely picture for me – you know, apples are so sweet and they're wholesome and it's biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and … clean! And I just thought, “Perfect!”’
Sage Moonblood
While Sage sounds like quite a nice name – it’s tasty in recipes, it looks good on accent walls – combined with ‘Moonblood’, it’s a little odd. Action star Sylvester Stallone gave his eldest son this strange moniker in 1976. Sage got off pretty lightly though – each of Sylvester’s three daughters (Sophia, Scarlet and Sistine) were given Rose as a middle name, while his other son was called Seargeoh.
Flame
Shameless star Tina Malone didn’t think motherhood would happen to her again at the age of 50, but when her tiny daughter came along in December 2013, she was thrilled to bits. She said she decided on the name after watching a news report on Flame Brewer, who at the age of nine became the world’s youngest wing-walker. (Rex)
Ocean
With a dad called Forest Whitaker, any offspring would have to have a similarly inspired-by-nature sobriquet, right? So it was for Forest’s baby boy, Ocean. Forest once explained: ‘I want those names to be their destiny, for my daughter [True Whitaker] to be honest and my son to be expansive. I try to be like a forest, revitalising and constantly growing.’ Aww.
Prince Michael Jackson I and II
Say what you like about Michael Jackson, at least he was always proud of his children taking his name. Literally, his actual name. Daughter Paris was born Paris-Michael, elder son Prince was named Prince Michael Jackson I, and little brother Blanket’s real name is Prince Michael Jackson II.
Harper Seven
Victoria and David Beckham may have impeccable taste in fashion, homes and eponymous fragrance lines, but their children’s names are… unique. Before only daughter Harper joined the Beckham clan we were treated to Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz. Well at least they’ll never be confused with any other children in their school.
Kal-El
Nicolas Cage was born Nicolas Kim Coppola but changed his surname after reading Marvel Comics superhero Luke Cage’s adventures. When he had his own son, he named the boy Kal-El – Superman’s birth name.
Pilot Inspektor
No, not the name of the person who checks airline staff passports at the airport – Pilot Inspektor was the name given to actor Jason Lee’s little boy when he was born. The My Name Is Earl star explained he and his wife were inspired by a track on indie rock band Grandaddy’s album. ‘The opening track He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot absolutely blew my mind when I first heard it,’ he said. ‘It was from this track that my wife, Beth, came up with the name Pilot for our son.’
Petal Blossom Rainbow
Ever wanted to go all out and name your baby after a fictional character? Jools and Jamie Oliver did with their youngest daughter, who received the same name as a My Little Pony!Their other little ones have similarly cutesy names - Poppy Honey Rosie, Daisy Boo Pamela and Buddy Bear Maurice make up the Oliver family.
Apollo Bowie Flynn
This far-out name actually has firm roots in family tradition, as Gwen Stefani's husband Gavin Rossdale explained when their third son was born earlier this year.Gavin took to Twitter to tell his followers that the couple decided to honour both of their mothers by including their maiden names in Apollo's moniker.
Bodhi Ransom
Megan Fox and husband Brian Austin Green gave their little boy a name meaning 'the understanding possessed by Buddha'. Bet they wonder why they chose that name when they've been woken for the 12th time in one night by his screaming...
Axl Jack
No, not named after a particularly greasy car part - Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie and partner Josh Duhamel chose this name for the little boy as a tribute to Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose. Who's ready to rock?
North West
We couldn't bring you a whole host of weird celebrity baby names without mentioning Kim Kardashian and Kayne West's little one, could we? According to grandma Kris Jenner, North - nicknamed Norrie - was so called because 'North means highest power and [Kim] says North is their highest point together.'
Kahekili
With mum Evangeline Lilly having shot to fame playing Kate in Lost, it's little wonder her daughter was given an exotic-sounding name. Kahekili comes from the word meaning 'thunder' in Hawaiian.
Kulture Kiari
Chart-topper and ultimat badass Cardi B was never going to settle on something from the Popular Names Listfor her little sprog. Kiari is a direct nod to Offset’s legal name of Kiari Kendrell Cephus and Kulture is presumably to honor the band Migos' latest albums which were called Culture and Culture II. Erm, Culture III?
Sparrow James Midnight
After Nicole Ritchie and Joel Madden chose Harlow Winter Kate for their firstborn, there was much anticipation about what they'd come up with for their second child. We love the Pirates Of The Carribean inspired name!
