Beauty and The Beast is a tale as old as time, loved by children and parents alike. The traditional fairy tale, written by French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve back in the 1700s, became a timeless classic once Disney cast its magic on it back in 1992. Since then, it has had animated spin-off films and live-action remakes, introducing this much-loved story to a whole new generation of fans. If your little one loves the films and dressing up, we've put together a list of Beauty and The Beast costumes so they can dress like their favourite characters and reenact scenes.

FAQs

How many Beauty and The Beast films are there?

Beauty and The Beast films have been made multiple times over the years, but if we're speaking strictly Disney films, there have been four Beauty and The Beast films made. There's the original, a Christmas special, The Enchanted Christmas and another tale called Belle's Magical World.
In 2017, Disney decided to create a live-action remake of the original Beauty and The Beast film. This live-action film ditches the animation we're used to and retells the story using real actors and clever CGI technology. The 2017 version of Beauty and The Beast included a star-studded cast, with Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as The Beast and Luke Evans as Gaston - to name but a few.

What is The Beast's real name in Beauty and The Beast?

We all know that The Beast was a real-life prince before being turned into a creature by an enchantress. We see The Beast transformed back to his true self at the end of the film, but do we ever find out what his real name is? The answer is no, his real name has never been revealed throughout any of the films. His name is never spoken by any of the characters on screen, he is simply referred to as Beast or Master. It isn't listed in the credits either so it remains one of the film's unsolved mysteries.
