1 How to make an easy peasy Easter egg wreath

Wreaths can be intimidating, but here's a fun one we found on Instagram by englishandartforkids that's easy peasy, but will still look lovely at Easter hung up in your home!

The image above is self-explanatory – just cut out a load of egg shapes from patterned craft paper (working from one template will help make sure they're all the same size). Then stick them to a wreath backing for support (you can easily make one by cutting up a cardboard box). Add a few paper leaves and tie at the top with a ribbon for hanging.

Depending on how much mess you want the kids to make, they could decorate their own Easter egg templates with paint, glitter and even mini pompoms or Easter chicks!

2 Make an adorable paper plate Easter bunny mask

How adorable is this paper plate bunny mask for Easter? We found it on Instagram by mommasociety and love that you can make these using paper plates, pipe-cleaners and tissue paper!

Depending on your kids' preferences you can easily change up the colours too, and instead of flowers to decorate, you could add paper eggs, pompoms, cardboard bows, ribbon, or just leave it blank. If you don't have a long wooden dowel, you can always make do with lollypop sticks, straws, or even a pencil from your child's art box!

4 Easy no-sew sock bunnies for Easter cuddles

If you're looking for an adorable crafting activity your little ones will LOVE because they get to turn their own socks (hopefully clean ones) into a cuddle bunny to play with over Easter, we found this no-sew bunny tutorial on Instgram by mrmintz_crafts.

They take about 20 minutes to make, and you don't need to do any sewing, so the kids can get involved! Just hunt for a suitable pair of socks, watch the video, and give it a go!

5 How to make the cutest pom pom chicks for Easter

There are a few Easter pom pom chick craft projects out there, but we found this super-simple one on Instagram by amandaformaro.

It's literally a pom pom, googly eyes and felt triangles for the beak! They're really cute and we think they'd make a fun keyring, bag accessory, or just little softies to play with.

Pompoms are easy to make, even if you don't have a pompom maker. We found this great pompom video tutorial on YouTube to show you how! Then it's just a case of sticking on your googly eyes and beak – a hot gun will come in handy for a good stick, but you can also use PVA glue.

6 Toilet roll bunnies for eco-friendly Easter crafting fun

Toilet-roll crafts are always popular at Easter because they're cheap and easy to make into Easter bunnies – but we spotted this version on Instagram by keep.kids.busy and thought it was extra fun because these bunnies actually hop!

After they have made their hopping bunnies your kids can have an Easter bunny race tournament – set up a themed course for them to hop their bunnies around, with a finishing line to hop over, and make sure you have a yummy prize for the winner!

7 Gorgeous salt dough Easter egg decorations

It's amazing what a little flour, salt, and water can create! We found this recipe on Instagram by_dimity_ – and in case you're wondering, no they're not edible!

Salt dough hardens in the oven a bit like clay, so you can make all sorts of fun things, and they're great for decorations like these. Just remember to use a skewer to make the holes to hang them BEFORE they go in the oven.

If you don't want to use the oven you can leave them out in the sun for a few days to harden, making this a fun craft to do leading up to Easter, so the decorations are ready to hang on the big day!

8 Make a big Easter egg hunt banner

©Image: nobiggie.net

If you're planning on having an Easter egg hunt this year, why not prolong the fun and have your kids make their own Easter egg hunt banner for the garden? This'll make it into even more of an event for them if they're inviting their friends and neighbours over to join in!

There are loads of ways you can do this – for example, if you have a Cricut cutting machine like the Cricut Joy Xtra, you could design your banner and cut out the letters to iron onto fabric or stick vinyl onto card – but not everyone has that luxury, so we love this free printable Easter egg hunt banner we found on No Biggie instead, that your kids can have fun decorating with confetti!

9 Easter colouring pages for little ones

Perhaps you're having a family BBQ this Easter and you're looking for a fun activity to keep little ones busy before the big Easter egg hunt in the garden, printable colouring pages like these from Crayola are always a hit.

Alternatively, if you only have a few children to entertain, you can treat them each to their own Easter-themed colouring book – we like the bestselling The Very Hungry Caterpillar's Easter Sticker and Colouring Book.

If the weather is nice you can set the kids up at a small table in the garden, or in the kitchen if not, with lots of colouring pencils and crayons. A chocolately prize for the best picture is always a handy incentive to help keep them focussed!

10 Make a beautiful Easter garland

©Image: beadingbrilliant.co.uk

We spotted loads of really great ideas for Easter garlands to make with your kids, but liked this one the best by beadingbrilliant.co.uk – it's the cute pompom bunny tails that did it for us, as well as the fact that this is a really easy garland to make, especially if you create a bunny template and use patterned paper (your kids can always colour or decorate one or two in their own way with paints, glitter, or whatever art materials you have at home).

Once you have all the bunnies you need and you've stuck on those cute pompom tails, just string them up with some twine or ribbon, and arrange somewhere prominent in your home! It's a lovely decoration to bring a bit of Easter into the kids' rooms too, and they'll probably wantto leave it up well after Easter is over, so they'll get to enjoy their creative work that bit longer.

Decoupage is a fun, easy activity for kids, but we thought you might be put off by using real eggs, so we found this genius alternative idea by Red Ted Art.

It's clever because it uses cheap plastic eggs that open, so you can fill them with mini eggs and treats! You can buy the plastic eggs in bulk on Amazon and kids can decorate them using the decoupage method and magazines to cut up and paste on – although, you'll get a smoother finish with decoupage paper or coloured tissue.

When they're ready you can fill them with mini eggs and hide them in the garden. They're perfect for hiding little toys, money, smarties or mini eggs inside.

You can use child-friendly non-toxic watercolour or poster paints, and use q-tips for easy dots! Acrylic paints will offer more vibrant and permanent colour coverage though, or a Mod Podge sealant will make them weatherproof if using outside.

21 Easter egg potato printing

We found this classic kids crafts idea on bbcgoodfood.com and thought it was ideal for Easter!

If you want to make these straightforward Easter egg potato prints with your kids all you have to do is cut a potato in half and carve out some shapes – probably a job for the adult involved! Stuck for ideas? Go for spots or stripes for a striking print. Then get your kids to choose their own colours to paint into the potato, and then stamp them onto paper to transfer the designs.

22 Decorate your home with pressed flower Easter eggs

©Image: laurenconrad.com

This is a lovely idea we found from the Laura Conrad blog for anyone with an appreciation of nature. The finished result will look lovely in a bowl as an Easter table arrangement, and the kids will enjoy getting involved in making them!

You'll need hard-boiled eggs – white ones work well to make the pressed flowers pop, but you could always paint the eggshells white, or any other colour, if you wanted. Alternatively, if you want to create an egg that can be used to hide trinkets or treats, then plastic eggs or craft eggs can be used instead of real ones. You'll also need clear-drying glue to seal the flowers onto the egg shell.

To press the flowers, you'll have to do this ahead of time if doing it traditionally in between the pages of a book or in a traditional flower press to allow them time to dry. You can also press flowers in the microwave for same-day results if you have some ceramic tiles or a microwave flower press kit.

If you don't have the patience to wait for the flowers to dry or you don't have a flower press, try using your household iron by placing the flowers in between kitchen roll paper to absorb and placing a thin layer of material to iron over the top, and don't forget to use an ironing board or towel to protect your surface!
