Robinson's Fruit Shoots have been recalled after concerns that children could potentially choke on the plastic bottle lids.
The product has been recalled following concerns that the spout inside the lid could detach and be choked on.
The blackcurrant and apple juice drink is a popular kids drink which can be bought in Tesco and Costco. The drink is also one of the drink options in a McDonald's Happy Meal.
Following a few reports, Britvic PLC released a statement saying: "The potential detachment of the spout within the bottle cap presents a safety risk" on The Foods Agency website on June 30th.
The Food Standards Agency tweeted:
McDonald's' recall notice said: "We were made aware of a packaging fault affecting the white drinking spout on a very small number of Fruit Shoot bottles and we, therefore, decided to remove it from our premises and are currently awaiting new stock."
Paul Graham, Britvic UK's Managing Director, said: “We always put the health and safety of consumers first."
“Accordingly, as soon as we were made aware of a packaging issue, we took steps immediately to minimise any potential risk to consumers.
He continued: "We identified the specific multipacks affected and, through our initial work, we were able to reduce the number of retailers impacted to three.
We are working with them to withdraw the packs and inform consumers, and we will continue to do so.”
The products that were affected were the multipack of 24 Fruit Shoot bottles sold at Tesco and Costco, and the single bottle that is sold at McDonald’s.
The Fruit Shoots that were bought between June 22nd and June 28th are those affected.
No other Britvic PLC products are known to be affected.
In the statement, they advised that if any customers have bought the product they must not drink it, and dispose of the drink safely.
