Dannii Minogue has opened up about the feelings that all mums can relate to when putting your child in daycare for the first time.
In an interview with Fabulous magazine, Dannii talks about how she felt enrolling her son in kindergarden, saying, ‘From having this little baby inside you and nurturing it...I’d hear other mums say: “Oh they’re still my little baby”, and you never understand it until you have your own. They’ll always be your little baby.’
Dannii, 42, shares parental duties with ex Kris Smith, a former rugby player and model. When they split in 2012, Dannii announded the news on Twitter saying, 'It brings me great sadness to tell you that Kris & I have separated. We still care for each other & ask for privacy at this difficult time, in particular for our son Ethan who remains our number one priority.'
Two years on, Dannii says, 'I'm happy and life is good.'
Leaving Ethan back home in Melbourne for five days meant she turned to technology to keep in touch - receiving video messages from her parents every day.
‘I got one this morning of him taking his T-shirt off,’ says Dannii. ‘I started teaching him how to do that at the start of the week and he was like: “Mummy, I can’t do it!” We’re practising tying shoe laces, too.’
