Former reality TV star Katie Hopkins has let everyone know just what she thinks about comparing motherhood to a job
She's not known for holding back when it comes to her opinions on motherhood, and Katie Hopkins, who aired herthoughts on a fair few 'types' of mum last week, has given us a bit more food for thought.
In her most recent column for Yahoo!, the 38-year-old writes, 'Nothing makes my buttocks clench tighter and my teeth itch more than "Full Time Mummy".'
Katie continues, 'Wherever "full time mummy" goes, the "hardest job in the world" is never far behind, clutching at her skirts - reminding us how terribly brave her choice has been.'
'It doesn't define you, doesn't earn you a living and certainly doesn't make you an interesting person to sit next to at dinner'
The columnist also directs her criticism at mums who work part time, particularly those who are also GPs, saying 'They plan a comfortable future as a part time mum/ part time GP before they even start their career - opting out before they've begun.'
Comparing motherhood with a job seems to be an issue for Katie. 'The hard truth is that there are no full time mums or part time mums,' she says. 'Being a mum is not a job - you can't hand in your notice when the going gets touch or ask to start late on Friday.
'It doesn't define you, doesn't earn you a living and certainly doesn't make you an interesting person to sit next to at dinner.'
