Nestled on the beautiful shores of Abu Dhabi, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr is a family-friendly oasis offering the perfect blend of luxury and comfort. Its spacious rooms and stunning views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque make it an ideal escape for families seeking a relaxing yet adventurous getaway.

Little ones will enjoy the outdoor pool, kids' park, and the pristine private beach. However, it's worth noting that the hotel doesn't have a dedicated children's club or organised activities, so it may not be the best choice for parents looking for a break. You may want to take a look at The WB Abu Dhabi Curio Collection by Hilton, which will be featured a little further down on our list.

That said, there are plenty of nearby attractions just a short drive away, and beautiful parks surround the city.

Whether you're exploring the nearby attractions or simply soaking up the sun, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr ensures an unforgettable experience for the whole family.

You’ll find everything at Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas to make you feel like royalty: a giant lagoon-sized pool just steps from the beach, a rooftop restaurant serving lobster under the stars, and a spa that offers a mix of Himalayan and Moroccan treatments.

You can truly relax while your little one is enjoying Aladdin's Cave kids' club, which features a splash pool, waterslides and even a cinema zone. There is plenty to keep everyone entertained, including tennis courts and a minigolf course. However, be prepared to drag the kids away from the kids' club when it's time for dinner.

It's important to note that some of Abu Dhabi's top attractions are quite a distance from the resort. However, the good news is that these attractions are only a short taxi ride away and there are plenty of taxis available throughout the city.

If you’re after luxury, you’ve come to the right place. Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental isn’t just a hotel; it’s an experience designed to impress both parents and little ones alike. With a private beach, two shimmering pools (including the most stunning lazy river), and a world-class kids’ club, it’s the ultimate blend of indulgence and family fun. While the children are entertained with treasure hunts and splash zones, you can unwind in the award-winning spa or sip a signature gold-flaked cappuccino. We love that Abu Dhabi’s cultural hotspots are just a short drive away from this resort.

When we visited this hotel in December, we were completely in awe of its beauty and even if you don't plan on staying here, it's well worth a visit.

When it comes to luxe getaways, the Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi knocks sits pretty by the marina. This five-star retreat puts you right in the heart of the action. On one side, there’s a pristine private beach for sun-soaked lounging and on the other, the massive Marina Mall for all your shopping fixes.

This place is packed with top-tier perks. Think jaw-dropping infinity pools, a huge selection of bars and restaurants and entertainment that keeps the whole family happy. The Rixy Kids’ Club is a game-changer for little ones (and parents), with interactive shows, educational games and plenty to keep them busy while you sneak off to the spa.

Rooms come with all the touches you’d expect, including air conditioning and Wi-Fi. However, our favourite feature is that you can book family suites that sleep up to six. Whether you’re after relaxation or an all-out adventure, Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi delivers big on both.

If your family loves a bit of movie magic, The WB Abu Dhabi Curio Collection by Hilton is the ultimate blockbuster getaway. From the moment you step inside, you're surrounded by Warner Bros. nostalgia, with everything from Batman to Bugs Bunny making an appearance. The pool is one of the stand-out features of this hotel, complete with a dive-in theatre where kids can watch cartoons while splashing around. Little ones have their own dedicated pool, while grown-ups can sip cocktails at the swim-up bar.

The fun doesn’t stop there. The hotel-run kids’ club is packed with activities, including film screenings, arts and crafts and an impressive indoor and outdoor playground. Meanwhile, parents can sneak off to The Overlook, a rooftop bar with live music and stunning views that stays open well into the night. And when adventure calls, Yas Waterworld is right next door, offering over 40 rides, slides and a lazy river for the ultimate family day out.

Guests rave about the friendly service and top-tier family amenities, making this a firm favourite for parents and kids alike. The themed rooms and character meet-and-greets add an extra sprinkle of magic. One thing to keep in mind, though, is the excitement comes with a bit of background noise, so if you’re after total tranquillity, this might not be the place for you, but it is perfect for families looking for fun.

Yes! Abu Dhabi is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, with safe beaches, exciting attractions like theme parks, and plenty of child-friendly dining options. Our Senior Digital Writer, Hannah Carroll, describes this as the ultimate holiday destination. We love that hotels also provide family-oriented amenities to make travelling with little ones even easier.

What is the best time of year to visit Abu Dhabi with kids?

The cooler months from November to March are ideal, as temperatures are pleasant for young children and adults alike.

What should I pack for a family holiday in Abu Dhabi?

Essentials include lightweight clothing, swimwear, sun protection (hats, sunscreen, sunglasses), and comfortable footwear for exploring. When Hannah forgot about the swimming floats, she was pleasantly surprised to find that some were available to purchase at the hotel.
