Bonfire Night - celebrating the failure of Guy Fawkes’ infamous Bonfire Plot in 1605 - is a fun excuse for a winter evening that the entire family can enjoy. With plenty of explosive visuals and pretty lights, a fireworks display outing nowadays also involves plenty of delicious food options, live entertainment, warming hot chocolates and a buzzy atmosphere.

We've found the best kid-friendly fireworks night displays and bonfires around the UK for you and your little ones to enjoy a spectacle to remember.

The best fireworks displays for kids 2024

The Annual Richmond Family Fireworks, London

Why not pop down to Richmond this year for a spectacular evening of family fun with a choreographed fireworks display by multi-award-winning Phoenix Fireworks? This year the display’s theme is “80’s Music Night” with fireworks set to iconic tracks from those glorious years. There will also be live entertainment prior to the fireworks spectacle as well as funfair rides, mulled wine, hot food, candy floss and popcorn stalls. Perfect for all the family.

When: Sunday 3rd November, arrive from 4.30pm with final entry at 6:30pm.

Where: The Athletic Ground, Twickenham Road, Richmond, TW9 2SF.

Tickets: Adult tickets from £12.50, Kids £7.50 and a family ticket is available from £24.

Battersea Park Family Fireworks Night, London

Battersea Park's firework display is one of the best in London and now it's back for two nights this year - a regular display and bonfire taking place on Saturday 2nd November and a family event the next day. The family event includes a life adventure from Octonauts, fairground rides and even a kid's DJ!

When: Sunday 3rd November with gates opening at 4:30pm and final entry 6:30pm

Where: Battersea Park, London, SW11 4NJ

Tickets: Adult tickets are £13.10, kid's tickets (ages 5-15) are £8.80 and under fives go free.

Lo Lounge Cardiff Bay Fireworks Night, Cardiff

For an explosive firework show in Cardiff that the whole family will enjoy, Lo Lounge Cardiff has amazing waterside views, street food, board games, music and their signature hot chocolate (complete with boozy options for adults!)

When: Tuesday 5th November, from 6 pm.

Where: Porth Teigr Way, Cardiff, CF10 4GA, United Kingdom

Tickets: Adult tickets from £22, kids from £14 and a family ticket of two adults and two children from £60.

Leicester's Bonfire Night, Leicester

Be dazzled by Leicester’s biggest bonfire and fireworks display at the city’s official celebration! Watch the skies light up at this fantastic family event, with a programme of live entertainment, a fun fair and plenty of food stalls. The lighting of the bonfire and main display is always a spectacular sight – but little ears need not worry! The evening includes a quieter fireworks show, perfect for younger audiences.

When: Saturday 2nd November. Gates open at 5pm

Solihull Round Table Fireworks

As well as an incredible fireworks display expect a roaring bonfire, delicious street food and a funfair packed with exciting rides and games for all ages. As well as being a brilliant evening for families, the event is proudly organised by volunteers with 100% of profits going to local charities and good causes.

When: Saturday 2ns November. Gates open at 4.30pm, with the display kicking off at 7.30pm.

Where: Tudor Grange Park, Solihull

Tickets: General admission is £15 and £6 for children.

Strathclyde Country Park Firework Display, Motherwell

Strathclyde Park - located near Motherwell and with easy access from Glasgow via the M8 - hosts an annual Bonfire Night event featuring a glorious fireworks display, music and good vibes. The best part, it's free to attend! The Big Feed will be running food outlets which include pizza, pasta and Lebanese offerings.

When: Tuesday 5th November, from 5.00pm. Fireworks display at 7.30.

Moortown Rugby Club Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza, Leeds

Put on your woolly hats and coats and join the crowds for a memorable evening of fireworks your little one is bound to remember! Expect a dedicated toddler and kids display, hot food, bars, live entertainment, rides and fire engines for the whole family to enjoy.

The bonfire will be lit at 7:30 p.m. with the pyrotechnics kicking off shortly afterwards at 8 p.m.

When: Saturday 2nd November, starting at 4:30pm

Where: Moortown Rugby Club, Moss Valley, Leeds, LS17 7NT

Tickets: Tickets for adults are £10 and kid's tickets £5. You can buy a family ticket for £28.
