There are plenty of options for family days out in Cheshire. It's often often described as a highly desirable county to live and it's no surprise as it offers plenty of attractions that you and your family can enjoy if you're planning on spending time in the area.

There are plenty of activities and days out in the North West and Cheshire to explore, so to help you whittle down the choice, here are eight of our favourite days out in Cheshire.

Chester Zoo

Chester Zoo is believed to be the most visited in the UK so you just know it's going to be. There are over 70 different animals to visit including lemurs, orangutans, jaguars and much more. You can also stop by the beautiful botanical gardens which play a vital role in helping local wildlife. We highly recommend a zoo like this as it caters to all ages and it makes for a great day out with toddlers in tow.

Blue Planet Aquarium

If your little one loves aquariums and fish tanks, this is the place to visit. here are more than 100 living displays on offer at Blue Planet Aquarium including one of Europe’s largest collections of sharks. You and your little one will get the chance to discover the exotic freshwater fish of South America in the Flooded Forest and wander through the 71m long Underwater Shark Tunnel as a kaleidoscope of sharks and fish swim over your head.

Price: Online tickets: £20.75 for 13 years+, £15.75 for 12 years and under, children under 3 feet go free.

Gulliver's World Resort

With an impressive selection of rides, attractions and shows to see each day, Gulliver's World is bound to be a day out you little one won't forget. Based in Warrington, little drivers can take to the track with Gully's Grand Prix and Dino Safari Tours while older ones will love the Pirates Cove and Flight of the Pteranodon rides.

Gullivers

Go Ape Delamere Forest

At Go Ape, young children over 1m tall will get to tackle Treetop Adventure from the Stepping Stones to the Button Bridge while those above 1.2m and over 6 years old can try Treetop Adventure Plus which offers more challenging crossings like suspended obstacles, higher platforms and an even longer zip-line.

Price: Online tickets: Treetop Adventure £20 for an 18+, £20 for a 6-17 years old child, children under six £6. Treetop Adventure + £25 for 16+.

The Farm at Tatton Park

Part of Tatton Park, Tatton Park's Farm is a working farm where you and your family can meet rare breed animals and new arrivals throughout the year as well discover how rural life has developed over the centuries. There's also a woodland play area, den building and kids trails to explore. Seasonal highlights include Lambing time at Easter, new-born calves in July and more.

Price: Online tickets: £8 for an adult, £6 for child, children under 4 go free, family ticket from £21.

Boulder Hut

This premium climbing wall has plenty for people of ages and abilities to enjoy. Under fives will love Boulder Play, dedicated space where they can take the first steps to learn climbing. It has a play tunnel and wall covered in colourful, tactile holds to play on. Older ones can be found at Boulder Zoo or the Main Walls.

Price: Online tickets: £12 for an 18+, £10 for children 11-17, £9 for children 5-10 years, £6.50 for children 2-4 years, children under one go free.

The Ice Cream Farm

Yep, you read that right! The Ice Cream Farm is family-friendly attraction which boasts lots to keep your child entertatined such as Honeycomb Canyon for sand and water play, Rocky Road and Gemstone Cove. And of course you can count on a scoop of delicious Cheshire Farm ice cream. Warning, there are 50 flavours to pick from!

Price: Online tickets access pass: £1 for an adult, £2 for child, infants go free. Each attraction costs £4.50 per child or buy the Play Pass for either five plays £15 or 10 plays for £30.

White Peak Alpaca Farm

Spend a day out in the Cheshire countryside where the whole family can get to know the White Peak Alpacas. Experiences range from a meet and greet, walk and even cuddle.

Price: Online tickets: Alpaca Meet & Greet is £10, Alpaca Cuddle Experience is £15, Walks with Alpacas £25 per person.
