It might still feel rather chilly outside, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to do this half term. From learning about our ancestors to exploring science and space, there are loads of events going on for kids all across the country.

Vets in Action at ZSL London Zoo

Inside London's famous zoo this half term, little ones are invited to become zoo vets. Junior vets will be dressed up in hairnets and masks before helping experts examine, diagnose and carry out treatments on soft toys, experiencing first-hand the huge variety of work carried out by the Zoo’s vets, vet nurses and zookeepers – from microchipping meerkats to caring for a wounded lion.
Northern Ireland Science Festival

This week-long festival brings science to life for both adults and kids. Child-friendly events range from learning more about physics, geology, ecology and everything in our universe in over 120 different events.
Half term at Hampton Court Palace

Teach them all about Mary Tudor’s realm at Hampton Court Palace this half term. You'll learn more about her friends, closest allies and her rise and fall.
1950s Front Street Terrace Opening, Beamish

Take a step back in time this half term and enjoy a visit to Beamish. During the school holidays, you can enjoy the grand opening of the new 1950s shop front with four new exhibitions to explore.
Imagine Children's Festival, London's Southbank

This year’s Imagine Children’s Festival is packing over 180 events into 12 days, with everything from a wellbeing wind down to Julia Donaldson and Friends: A Pocketful of Songs. The Singing Mermaid. And you don’t need to break the bank to enjoy it as most of the events are completely free.
Jorvik Viking Thing, The Jorvik Centre

Still concerned about Covid? Or are you in isolation? You can still bring your little Vikings along to the world’s largest online Viking Festival during February half-term. With plenty of interactive fun, livestreams, and video on demand so you can immerse yourself in Viking life at home!
Snap Time at the National Coal Mining Museum, Wakefield

This half term your little ones can learn all about the history of coal mining with this years activities themed by all things food. With a snap trail, tasting session plus loads more to get involved with, you can also add on a tour to your day to make the experience even more fun for you and your family.

Learn all about rockets, satellites and more at the National Space centre this half term. You'll also get the chance to see some dazzling shows to help teach little ones more about the world of space.

Ideal for kids aged five and under, this Makaton-friendly adventure will help you learn more about our bodies and the way they work in this fun and sensory, creative journey.
Wildlife Explorers, Leeds Castle

Let them challenge themselves this half term at the medieval Leeds Castle in Kent. The stunning grounds are ripe for exploring and finding all sorts of mini beasts and different species of animals and birds, and you'll also have fun getting lost in the maze too!
