Winter has suddenly arrived, with frosty mornings and a definite chill in the air. So, it's a great time to stock up on jumpers for your baby. If you haven't already filled the wardrobe with newborn knitwear, then it's time to invest in the best baby sweaters.

How to keep your baby warm

With babies it's all about layers, layers and layers. A good rule of thumb is to always put your baby in one more layer than you're wearing yourself (or have a spare layer tucked away in your pram organiser, just in case!)

Sweaters, jumpers and cardigans are great for this. Knitwear is a perfect insulation layer, it's comfortable for your baby and won't get wrinkly, so less ironing and no worrying about crumpling it up to squeeze it into an already packed nappy bag so you can bring it along for a winter walk in the woods. Also, kids in the baby sweaters look adorable!

How do baby clothes sizes work?

Baby clothing sizes are based on a few different factors including age, weight and length and shops will go with the average size of a baby. But as most of us know, one baby will grow at a different speed than another, meaning for example that some 18-month-old babies might not fit into clothes specified for their age group.
