We all know how much of a lifesaver Sudocrem is when you're a parent. You're in safe hands when it comes to nappy rash or a bit of baby eczema that's driving you (and your tot!) mad. But it's also a must-have for your cupboard in general because there are a lot of Sudocrem uses to make the most of thanks to that little grey tub.

How does Sudocrem work?

The key ingredients of Sudocrem are:

Zinc oxide: which helps to reduce the loss of fluid from the skin. A water-repellent base forms a protective barrier, helping to stop any irritants from coming into contact with the skin

Anhydrous hypoallergenic lanolin: an emollient which soothes and softens skin.

Benzyl alcohol: which has local anaesthetic and antiseptic properties that help to reduce discomfort.

Is Sudocrem an antiseptic cream?

It is indeed, which is why it's ideal to have in your baby first-aid kit. Sudocrem has a water-repellent barrier which stops any irritants from coming into contact with the skin, while its emollient effect can soothe irritated skin. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Can Sudocrem be used on newborns?

Yes, Sudocrem is gentle enough to use from birth.

Is Sudocrem good for your face?
