Losing baby weight is a struggle – but is it a reason to intentionally go under the knife?
With a constant stream of images of celebs magically slimming back to their pre-baby size the second they’ve given birth, it’s no surprise that women are feeling pressured to shed the baby weight quickly. And some new mums are going as far as having surgery to help than regain their figure.
This ‘yummy mummy tummy tuck’ is reportedly a huge post-birth trend now, with one consultant surgeon claiming the number of women requesting the surgery has double in the past five years.
Raj Ragoonansi performs the £10,000 procedure frequently on famous faces but revealed at the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons that middle class mums are regular clients.
He continued to say that it’s a complicated procedure and he recommends that ‘a mother should wait until she wait nine months after she has had her last child.’
‘It is best to wait until after you have had all the children you want and then after nine months come to a surgeon,’ he said.
