If you find yourself always prioritising something else, make your goals more realistic
After you’ve had a baby, it can seem impossible to find time for yourself, so set yourself small goals.
‘Instead of thinking, “I must exercise three times a week” then beating yourself up when it doesn’t happen, set yourself doable challenges,’ says personal trainer Matt Roberts
For example, say you’re going to walk to the shop instead of driving. It’s easier to say you don’t have time to exercise and lose weight than it is to try and fail. But make a few changes and you will see a difference.
What you can do
You’ll really benefit from “fitness snacking”.
‘This is where you forget about lengthy workouts and do small bits of fitness when you can,’ says Matt. Studies show that this way of working out is just as effective at boosting your metabolism, increasing your fitness levels and burning fat.
