There are so many different baby shower themes to choose from for your celebration of baby and mum-to-be. That's why it can be very tricky to plan, especially if you don't yet know the sex or have never been to a baby shower before or if this is your first time planning a baby shower.
The good news is that when it comes to baby showers, the ideas for themes really are endless and choosing just one can be tricky. To help give you some inspiration, we've rounded up some of our favourites to get you started.
Mum-to-Bee
Buzzy bees are an adorable theme idea for any baby shower, particularly if they're taking place in the spring or summer months. They're gender neutral and you can serve bee-themed food, drinks and a little pot of honey could make the perfect baby shower favour if you're in need of something.
Pink baby shower
Whether you know there's a baby girl on the way or if mum-to-be just loves the colour pink, decorating your baby shower with some pretty pink florals makes for a very cute and pretty baby shower. From the cake to pink sweet treats and even the drinks, think pink at every stage when decorating for this theme.
Blue baby shower
If pink isn't for you or if you know it's a boy then blue could work better. There are so many stunning shades of blue, you can really go all out finding the perfect balloons, food and also, don't forget to tell the mum to stick to the blue theme when she's planning her outfit.
Teddy bear baby shower
One of our personal favourites is the teddy bear-themed baby shower. Suitable for year-round showers, this very sweet theme is ideal if you don't yet know the sex of the baby. The warming shades of brown and beige make for a really cosy feel so don't forget plenty of hot drinks and blankets for your guests to cosy up in.
Woodland theme
If your mum-to-be is super outdoorsy or you're lucky enough to be hosting in the picturesque countryside then a woodland theme might be the perfect fit. There are so many sweet woodland animals you can incorporate like bears, hares and foxes. It's also perfect for gender-neutral showers with natural shades of green, beige and brown.
Clouds and moon theme
Thanks to the likes of mum Molly-Mae, clouds are everywhere in the baby world at the minute, so you'll be bang on trend with a cloud-themed baby shower. Go for plenty of whites, creams, light greys and pale pastel colours for a lovely effect. You can also add some moons and stars if you fancy.
Star-themed baby shower
If clouds are a little bland in your book, then some shining stars could be just the theme you need. Inspired by twinkle twinkle little star, your mum-to-be will be the star of the party with this theme. While both silver and gold work well, we love the warming contrast of gold stars in front of a white background along with some twinkling fairy lights.
Spring lemon baby shower
If it's a summer baby you're waiting for, then you'll probably want to host the shower outside. We love a citrus theme for an Italian summer alfresco feel. This one makes the perfect setting for a cute baby shower picnic outside with plenty of fruit and cake to keep your guests happy.
Winnie the Pooh baby shower
Winnie is a classic children's book character and there are so many different ways you can approach this theme. While we'd suggest not overcomplicating things and sticking to one character from the book series, there's nothing stopping you from featuring some of the other characters. For example, an Eeyore theme would be adorable!
Jungle-themed baby shower
Jungle-themed nurseries are becoming very popular at the moment, so it's no surprise it's a popular choice of baby shower theme. There are so many jungle animals you can incorporate into the party such as tigers, lions and elephants and make sure there's plenty of green and foliage around the party.
Peter Rabbit
Another iconic children's book character is the lovely Peter Rabbit. In fact, any character from the famous Beatrix Potter book series would work as a lovely theme. The books are full of pretty pastel colours that you can recreate throughout the party and there are so many Peter Rabbit-themed party supplies available, making it an easier theme to execute when you're in a rush.
Winter baby shower
If baby is due in the new year then you'll likely be throwing a baby shower in the colder winter months. While you don't want to make it feel like a Christmas party, creating a little winter wonderland for mum-to-be is a lovely idea. Focus on warming browns, greens contrasted with crisp whites and make sure there are plenty of warming food and drink options for your guests to warm up with.
Autumnal baby shower
If your baby shower is timed around the autumn months, then you're in luck as this adorable Halloween or autumnalbaby shower might just be one of our favourites. Featuring all those lovely things synonymous with autumn like pumpkins and toffee apples, you can take inspiration from all the lovely leaves around at that time of year, with deep oranges, browns and reds.
Daisy-themed baby shower
Flowers are always a winner when it comes to baby showers, and while there are hundreds of different flower themes you could choose from, we particularly love this sweet daisy theme. Daisy's look excellent paired with any pastel colour so could work for any interior theme.
Bohemian-style baby shower
If you've got an outdoor baby shower in your head, then this boho theme works perfectly. You'll need plenty of muted coloured florals and balloons, pampas grass and some cosy rattan furniture to really bring the theme to life. This one also lends itself perfectly to a picnic, so you'll need a comfy rug, some cushions and plenty of finger food to enjoy alfresco.
Green neutrals baby shower
Sage green is a wonderful theme focus colour if you're not sure what direction to go down. It's perfectly gender-neutral, a very calming colour if your mum-to-be is feeling nervous and pairs lovely with gold accents. You can pick up some adorable sage green botanical-themed baby shower invites online too so your guests will instantly know the vibe of the shower.
Elephant-themed baby shower
If you like the idea of an animal theme but aren't keen on the jungle idea then an elephant theme baby shower could be a better fit. It makes a lovely addition to a pink or blue-themed party and you can have some elephant cupcakes, an elephant baby shower cake and even elephant balloons.
Disney-inspired baby shower
When it comes to Disney ideas, the possibilities are endless. Whether you want to pick mum's favourite Disney film and go down that route, or you want a general Disney Princess-themed shower like this one, if she's a Disney lover you know you're onto a winner.
White and minimal baby shower
There's something so chic about sticking to clean whites and neutral shades for a baby shower. It's a great idea for a gender-neutral shower and can be thrown at any time of year, indoors or out. If you do want to add some colour, go for a warming tone of green or brown to cosy things up a bit.
Beach-themed baby shower
Whether your mum-to-be lives by the ocean or just loves the seaside, this is a really cool theme you can have some fun with when planning. While you might want to stick to the surf theme like this one, you might even want to delve into an under-the-sea theme too.
Sunshine-themed baby shower
Yellow is such a happy shade so it's not surprising that so many mums go for a yellow sunshine theme when it comes to the very joyous occasion of a baby shower. The 'Here Comes the Sun' theme obviously lends itself perfectly to summer baby showers or babies due in the sunny months.
