Kiddyum Frozen Children's Meals at a glance:

Sustainably packaged frozen mini meals for young children aged 1-4. At Kiddyum we never add salt or sugar to our meals and they are as good as home made. We believe in real food for mini-tums. We freeze to lock in the goodness and don't use heat treatment or additives to preserve.

We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review...

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Marie: I would recommend this product to friends because not only is it easy to prepare, there is a good variety of meals and they are great value. It also offers people the chance to try out ingredients that they may not necessarily use themselves and therefore helps babies to broaden their food choices.

Jane: I would definitely recommend this product because my little boy loves them. They are super tasty, they are full of natural ingredients which I think is very important for little ones. They are quick and easy to use and the packaging is all recyclable which is a bonus. You get what you pay for and although these are priced higher than some products they are a quality product. I will definitely be stocking up when there is an offer on.

Amy: I would highly recommend these ready meals due to the fact they are so quick and easy to cook. I take great comfort knowing that there is no added salt, sugar, preservatives, artificial flavours or colours in any of the Kiddyum frozen meals. This puts my mind at ease knowing that my little one is eating fresh food.

How did this product make your life easier?

Sarah: Although I would love to be able to make my own food for my child at all times, being a busy working mum makes that impossible. These are a great ready-made meal to have in the freezer for those days where you just don’t have the time or where your day doesn’t turn out quite as expected! The fact that they also contain no added sugar or artificial flavours gives me the reassurance that even on these days I’m providing a fairly healthy meal.

Ellen: The kiddyum meals have lots of texture and flavour. The meals are not like other toddler meals we've tried, they look, smell and taste like home cooked meals. There are no preservatives, gm ingredients, artificial colours or flavours, no added sugar and low salt - which is all important for my daughter's health and nutrition.

Amy: This product makes my life easier as I can cook it straight away from the freezer within 5 minutes making it a quick and convenient ready meal. These meals are also the perfect size for a child under the age of three, leaving no wastage. The other great quality of these meals are that they are mess-free. You cook them in the original packaging!

Would you choose this product to win?

Jane: 100% I would choose these meals above all other products. I have bought all different makes / brands of toddler meals in the past and this is by far the best I have used. I love the fact my boy is getting a proper meal, that looks like a proper meal and not something that is all mashed together with a bit of flavour. He loves it too. They are so tasty and full of goodness just like a home cooked meal. I will always have one in the freezer for back up.

Ellen: The flavour and texture of the meals are just right for my daughter who is 18-months-old. The chicken curry and rice was her favourite...the cheesy peasy pasta was mine! I could have eaten an adults portion. The tray and sleeve are recyclable , which is an added bonus.

Emma: We would chose Kiddyum now over other frozen meal options. The price is great, the packaging looks great/very eye catching but simple to read and understand. Great variety of meals. Well balanced. With the added bonus that they taste great! We love that the packaging is fully recyclable too.

What changes would you make to this product?

Ellen: The only thing I would change is that when heated for the correct amount of time as per the instructions, the food was extremely hot. It takes several minutes to cool down and on a few occasions, I've had a screaming, hungry toddler. I understand this is necessary as the meals are frozen but I might choose a meal from the cupboard instead if I needed something to be ready quickly.

Jane: I would love them to be stocked in more places as at the moment I can’t get them on my weekly shop and have to go elsewhere to buy them. Maybe a fresh/fridge range would be good - so if I am out and about I can grab one without having to rush back to get it in the freezer.

Sarah: I would love to see more dairy-free options within this range. Being a mum to a child with a cows milk allergy means we are fairly limited when it comes to being able to use full product ranges like this. The allergy market is growing and it would be great to see this extend to children as well as adults.
