How did this product make your life easier?
Ruth Alcorn says: "I liked the smell, the consistency and the pump for ease of use of The Very Hungry Caterpillar range. It is also quite easy to wash out when you use the shampoo and bath stuff. I like that as my son does not like getting his hair washed out. The pump definitely makes it much easier to use. When holding the baby with one hand I can get the shampoo."
Kirsty Gilmour says: "I like how the bath wash is multi functional and can be used as a shampoo and soap. It smells lovely and the pump works well as doesn’t clog. The moisturiser smells lovely, is easily absorbable and the pump doesn’t clog up. It is easily to lock the pump when finished. The pillow spray is a godsend - it really helped my six month old sleep for longer at night."
Cathrine Mitchell says: "These products have made my life a little bit easier because bath time is now a lot more fun for the both of us. As the body wash is hungry caterpillar themed, we read the book while in the bath and it adds to the fun and games we can play during this time. My baby recognises the character on the bottles, and always have a little game around using the pump bottle to apply the body wash or moisturiser to our bath sponge or hands. We apply the moisturiser soon after I take my baby out of the bath and it absorbs very quickly and easily into the skin, making it so soft and the smell is incredible. As I don't have to wait ages for the moisturiser to be absorbed I can get my baby dressed quickly and he's ready for bed soon after. The pillow spray is probably my favourite step, as it signals that we are ready for bedtime. It creates an incredible relaxing atmosphere in the room as the scent of lavender and jasmine are so relaxing and calming. I do believe it helps my little one drift off to sleep quickly and easily. It has become part of the routine now making bedtime a fun and ultimately relaxing experience. In the past I have used baby body washes and moisturisers but the bottles are a little boring so this added bit of colour and fun is definitely a plus for us. I like that the body wash and moisturiser bottles are sleek and slender as they can be placed together on the bathroom shelf without taking up too much room. The pump dispenser on these is great because I can get the product out in just two or three pumps and I can even do this one handed if necessary, this is so much easier than having to turn a bottle upside down and trying to squeeze the product out."
Would you recommend this to other parents?
Alexandra Mitchell says: "The The Very Hungry Caterpillar range helped me to establish a great bedtime routine with my twins. It made it an enjoyable experience for us all. The products have a lovely calming scent which meant the upstairs of my house smelt really relaxing, ready for everyone to go to bed. The ingredients in the product helped calm and relax my twins ready to go to sleep. The sleep spray is like a bottle of dreams! It was the final step and just meant our bedrooms smelt so relaxing. I even sprayed some on my pillow!"
Claire Morgan-Glover says: "The bottle design is very eye catching. The bottle cap has an open and close feature that works really well, so I felt confident that my son couldn’t open it and I could put it in my bag and transport it without any spills. The product smells lovely and dries quite quickly, leaving his skin very soft. My son loves to be independent and will often want to wash himself in the bath and soap his hair. The only problem I have found with the body wash, is that if it accidentally gets into his eyes, it has really stung (more than other products we have tried). The pillow spray we have found the most helpful. We introduced it into our bedtime routine and my son loved smelling his bed sheets. The only thing that I have disliked about using it, is that I am finding I have had to wash the bed sheets on a much more frequent basis as the build-up of the spray and I think my sons sweat where it has been really hot has left a strange smell in his room."
Talisa Paterson says: "I would recommend this product to fellow mummy’s and daddy’s because I said before it smells so lovely, the shampoo doesn’t have a strong scent while in your hand but once baby’s hair is dry it smells so lovely. The moisturiser cream is so lovely and smooth to rub in. It’s not slimy or wet it rubs in so lovely, leaving skin so soft and there is a hint of scent too. All very lovely."
Would you choose this product above others on the market?
Ruth Alcorn says: "No I wouldn’t. I have another brand which I previously used and I wouldn’t be tempted by this brand to change to it. I’m not a fan of the sleep spray or moisturiser but I liked The bath and shampoo. I would probably buy it if it was available in a bigger bottle on it’s own. My son did like The Very Hungry Caterpillar packaging though as he loves the hungry caterpillar."
Kirsty Gilmour says: "I loved the product and thought it was great to have a continuous theme with hungry caterpillar packaging as my 2 year old really enjoyed the bedtime routine more and allowed me to wash his hair and apply moisturiser afterwards. The scent is lovely and I would love to use the pillow spray too. The packaging format was great and had no issues with product leaking when U took them with me to my parents house."
Cathrine Mitchell says: "I think this set stands out above the rest firstly because of the cute character design. The bottles are colourful, eye catching and display a recognisable character from the much loved children's book. I love that the scent matches throughout the set, from the body wash to the moisturiser and finally the pillow spray, the final step in the bedtime routine. The scent throughout the set is absolutely incredible, it smells really natural and not at all synthetic. The combination of jasmine and lavender is lovely and very relaxing, the perfect duo for creating a calming atmosphere for bed. I would choose it above others mainly for this reason, it creates a really nice little step by step routine to follow while getting my little one ready for bed. I also love the pump dispenser of the body wash and moisturiser, this is much easier to use than having to try and turn a bottle or tube upside down and squeeze, trying to get product out when you have your hands full with other things. I do think that this set is good value for money, each of the products work beautifully and just as they should. My absolute favourite is the pillow spray, this is such a lovely and unique touch. The spray bottle is so easy to use, the cap fits and clicks on again nicely and securely afterwards, the product sprays evenly and does not stain or damage any of the soft furnishings or sheets so can be used directly in the cot. I think this set is a really innovative and fun way to create a nice little slot in the evening getting ready for bed. I do think that these products should win the award because they are fun, unique, work together to create a lovely little routine, are sustainable and made from naturally derived ingredients, are cruelty free, vegan and made in Britain. What more could you want as a mum?"
What changes would you make to this product?
Alexandra Mitchell: "There is not really anything I would change about this product – I love it and I will be buying it once we have finished this bottle. I think it is a shame that there are not more products available as they are so nice. It is the type of product that I would buy for my friends’ babies as gifts so it would be nice if the book “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” was included in the set. Apart from that this is a totally lovely product and it was a real treat to be able to test it."
Claire Morgan-Glover says: "It’s a little more expensive than other products and although I would be tempted to purchase the moisturiser again (I love it), I don’t know whether I would bother with the body wash or pillow spray. They both smell lovely and have been great with my sons sensitive skin, but I know I can get a body wash just as good for much less."
Talisa Paterson says: "If I could change one thing it would be the price maybe. I feel £4.99 for the shampoo is more than what I would spend on for my own. I do recommend it but I do have to say the price quick as I’m unsure on what reaction I’m gunna get. Most think it’s ok. Also I’m unsure which shops sell it as I haven’t seen it around. Maybe it could be easier to buy if available in supermarkets."
