Would you recommend this to other mums?
Amy: The nappies were great to try, I really enjoyed that they were eco-friendly and the lengths the Mum and You went to create these to make them one of the better eco-friendly nappies on the market. They were a good fit however I felt there was quite a lot of material at the front making them slightly bulkier than other brands on the market. I really enjoyed the designs, it made them a bit more fun and exciting, especially have two different designs in the pack. We did have a couple of leaks and found sometimes that the nappy wasn’t absorbing as quickly as other brands. Overall I think they are great from an eco-friendly point of view and design front. I think I would use them in the future when my child is older for the patterns as it’s something a bit more fun.
Emily: I have tried this nappy, first it is an overall good nappy. It has nice designs but we had leaks a few times. It fits well actually but when baby weed, a lot at a time it leaked.
Jodie: I have found these nappies to be a lovely addition to my baby caddy. I have not experienced any leaks. They are soft and fit well around babies legs and back and I did not experience the nappy sliding down baby's back like with some nappies. They are very absorbent and can easily last through a 12 hour night. Overall I feel they easily make life easier as a mum, they are reliable, comfortable for baby and have the added bonus of looking great too.
How did this product make your life easier?
Meesha: The nappy itself is made of good quality materials, it is thin and soft which makes it comfortable for the baby
Rosin: I absolutely would! They work well, seem to be comfortable and have quite a pretty design – as well as the blue line to tell you when your child has peed! I’m not sure they’d survive all night, we put our son in a different brand at night time as these seemed to get very heavy after a few hours.
Katy: I would recommend these nappies to another parent because we did not have any leaks at all from them! They fill out evenly and I love that there were design variations mixed in one bag. The eco feel is so soft, I couldn’t believe the difference between the nappies we were using before and these, so much better for babies skin.
Would you choose this product to win?
Sarah: I love the nappies but unfortunately I would not choose them above others because they simply are not affordable long term. With the number of nappies you go through in the newborn phase, we would simply be paying too much and my maternity leave salary would not sustain it. Maybe when she is using fewer nappies as a toddler I could justify it. However, my son who is 2 and a half is very particular and probably would not want to wear two differently designed nappies so having the choice of a package with 1 design or 2 could be good for older children.
Jodie: Although I really like this nappy there, and is high up in expectations there is, unfortunately, one other brand that is my go-to and it has not swayed me to change. However, saying that I found that these nappies were much better than a lot of other brands I have used both supermarket and branded. This nappy stands out due to its design and I feel that they are a lot softer to touch than many others. It could have an elasticated back to help make it more fitted and comfortable. One thing I noticed was that the wetness indicator didnt show up very well.
Rosin: I haven’t tried any other biodegradable nappies but these are definitely a fantastic option. If you are eco-conscious then they definitely make you feel less bad if you weren’t able to get on with reusables.
What changes would you make to this product?
Katy: The only thing I would change about these nappy’s is the cost. I can’t pay £9.95 a pack when we go through 10 plus nappies a day and our current nappies are £3. The nappies are absolutely worth every penny and are incredibly well made and of course much better for baby but just not something my budget and many other parents on maternity leave budgets would fit.
Rosy: I think the sizing system needs to be better aligned to other brands. The size 2 I trialled only goes up to 13lbs, whereas other leading brands have a size 2 limit of 18lbs. I, unfortunately, experienced lots of leaks and think this is because we tried the wrong size for us. With quite a high price for the nappies, it would be annoying to accidentally buy the wrong size.
Sarah: I would really love to use this product more regularly but the price really puts me off. One pack is nearly ten quid and for a disposable nappy that is a lot. If I was paying that much I would rather use cloth nappies which aren’t much more expensive for one and can be used again and again. I think this product is marketed at higher income families who want to do their part for the planet but don’t want the fuss of washing reusables. If there was a way to make the price more affordable I would be interested in using them.
