This multifunctional baby carrier is soft and breathable, and perfect for carrying your newborn in the early months. The carrier is easy to use in the day and through the night, as well as having a detachable front section that you can lift out when your baby is sleeping.
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Eliana: The material is lovely and soft - great for newborn skin. The size and head support are fully adjustable, which means the baby carrier is easy to adapt as your newborn grows. I really like the tape-measure section which helps you adjust it to your baby's size. It comes with clear instructions and you can also download this on the internet. It is reassuring that you have to hear the click noise to know you have locked the carrier securely. The main back support is easy to hook in which is important while you are supporting the baby. We found it easy to adjust the straps between myself and my husband who are over 8 inches different in height.
Nikita: I would recommend this product because it’s not too expensive, it is a very well made carrier where not only it looks nice but it’s extremely comfortable and it also washes very well without compromising the material. It’s easy to use and assemble. My daughter seems very comfortable and happy whilst in it.
Sian: I would recommend this product because it is easy to use, has lovely soft fabric and it is comfortable to wear with the baby in it. The straps at the top mean you can support the baby’s head well and it appears stylish (it is available in many nice colours). However, the design means that the baby’s knees are below their hips, which is not ideal for the baby’s development and posture. Therefore I would not recommend this for anyone who planned to use the sling for long periods of time.
How did this product make your life easier?
Charlotte: The carrier is very transportable, it isn't too bulky and it is very easy to use when taking your baby out and about. It is ideal for newborns who like to be held all the time as it allows you to get things done while your baby is sleeping! It’s much quicker and easier to use than the stretchy wrap style slings and my baby was still able to sleep whilst in this carrier.
Sophie: Having a toddler and a newborn, I am on the go a lot more than I ever was the first time around. A sling or baby carrier, therefore, feels like a necessity to free up my hands and to be able to cope with the demands of 2 children. The BabyBjorn carrier mini is perfect for the baby, allowing me to carry him when he has his moments where he doesn't want to be put down, and I still have both hands free to get on with jobs like making the dinner or feeding my toddler. It has also been very useful to have the baby in the sling while either walking with the toddler or having the toddler in the pram when out and about. It easy to put on and take off by yourself, and most importantly the entire front section of the carrier opens so you can easily get the baby out when they are asleep and keep them asleep!
Esther: It was particularly useful when I needed to dash around the house, and needed to keep my baby with me, or they just wanted constant cuddles but I had a few jobs to do. Sometimes it is just not practical to keep carrying the little one from room to room. The head support means that compared to other baby carriers it is easier to bend over. It was amazing to be able to wear the carrier whilst bathing my toddler. For me, I prefer the lightly structured Babybjorn mini compared to a wrap carrier, because it was quick to put on and doesn’t slip down whilst you are wearing it.
Would you choose this product to win?
Emma: I would choose this product over others on the market for a number of reasons. It can be used from the newborn stage which allows immediate bonding. The material is also really soft and extremely comfortable. The simplicity of use is a massive bonus as there’s no complicated straps or buttons to deal with and the baby can be placed and secured in the carrier quickly and easily. Plus it is machine washable.
Sian: I would choose this product for my newborn baby because it is made specifically to support the smaller babies, it is extra soft on the baby’s skin and does not rub or leave any marks on them, and it is easy to use.
Tammy: This would be my choice over all the others on the market as it’s the easiest one to put on and place baby in safely on my own. After receiving the product we went and tried others in store and this was the one baby settled and looked the most comfortable in. It is easy to adjust to switch between parents. When your baby is asleep and if I want to put my baby down a few clicks and I can put him down. This carrier didn’t hurt or make my back ache either. The comfort for mum and baby means this is the one for us.
What changes would you make to this product?
Nirali: The only thing I would possibly change about this carrier is the padding on the shoulder straps. I feel it is minimal and whilst my baby is still small and considerably lightweight, it has not bothered me. However, I know once he gets older and puts on weight, it will be a strain on my shoulders. Some padding on the shoulder straps would make this the most ideal and comfortable carrier.
Sian: I would change the ergonomics of this product so that the baby’s posture was supported in a better way and their hips were protected more. A priority of all parents is the development of the baby. I would want reassurance that the sling was doing the very best for them especially at this early newborn stage. This is especially important because it is being advertised as a useful aid to carry the baby around the house, which may suggest that the baby will be in the sling for long periods of time. If this was achieved I believe that the BabyBjorn mini would be the perfect sling for newborn babies.
Emma: The only issue I had with this carrier is when the head support was adjusted for my 6-week old baby, I had to pull the straps quite tight, which resulted in two bulky folds of fabric either side of baby’s head. They seemed to get in the way a little when my baby was settling into the carrier, so If there was a way of removing or reducing these fabric folds, that would help.
