The Brush-Baby Chewable Toothbrush is a brilliant idea – just add toothpaste and let your baby gnaw away. It’s dishwasher friendly, easy for babies to hold and can also be used to apply teething gel. It's a convenient size, which makes it great for taking out and about although a little travel case would be useful (even at an extra cost).
How did the Brush-Baby Chewable Toothbrush make your life easier?
Kate: If you have a toddler where teeth brushing can be a bit of battle these are a useful product. My daughter got the idea straight away and was giving them a chew and pretending to brush her teeth with them. This helps take out the stress and battle of teeth brushing time. This product will also be useful when you have a younger child who is teething and they can give this product a good chew while you know they are helping to clean their gums and teeth at the same time.
Kelly: I can give the chewable toothbrush to my toddler with a small amount of the toothpaste and let her brush and chew on the brush while I brush my own teeth and help the older children. It’s also very easy to hold and manoeuvre while I’m helping her too. This makes for one happy toddler and mummy instead of the daily fight with a normal toothbrush.
Rajika: The chewable toothbrush takes the hassle out of getting my child to brush her teeth. She really seems to enjoy chewing on it and will chew on it longer than her usual standard toothbrush especially when she is teething. The product seems safe and is easy to use and I love that it is dishwasher safe for a more thorough clean once in a while.
Would you recommend the Brush-Baby Chewable Toothbrush to other mums?
Kimberley: I have clipped one of these onto the car seat for my little one to grab and chew when she feels the need (which she does a lot), which helps keep her entertained whilst I’m driving. The other one is kept by her bathing products so we can brush her gums ever evening. She seems to really love the taste of the toothbrush, and I’m not sure if it's down to the chamomile ingredient or pure coincidence, but she does seem to settle quicker at bedtime.
Rachael: Yes, I would recommend this product. It momentarily goes in the fridge to be cooled when gums are sore. I also found it easy to keep clean as it can go in the sterilizer. You also get two in the pack so you can always have one to hand if one gets dirty. We also found the toothpaste lovely as it was apple flavour so it went down well in our house.
Keri: The design of the toothbrush was really good, the shape and fit were perfect and I liked the tiny silicone bumps that help clean. I do worry about cleaning the brush as presumably, it wouldn’t need changing as often as a regular toothbrush so I would need cleaning more frequently. I do like that because it’s silicone and can be used for longer it’s more eco-friendly than plastic toothbrushes.
Would you choose the Brush-Baby Chewable Toothbrush to win?
Rebecca: This is an inexpensive solution to a common problem (in my experience). It's more useful than a toothbrush as it can also be used as a teething toy, and it's more useful than a plain teething toy as it has more functionality. I think it's worth the money. I haven't tried other chewable toothbrushes but I do think that because this one is geared towards babies and toddlers and has more functionality I would choose this. It also seems to have been designed by a mum with input from dentists, which gives me a lot of faith in the product!
Katie: I don't think I would choose this toothbrush to win the best teething product. The product is aimed at 10-36-month-olds but I don't think it is any use to children who know how to brush their teeth already. There isn't the option to brush the teeth with this as it is a chewable toothbrush. It is easy to apply the toothpaste though.
Kelly: I would definitely buy this product over regular toothbrushes as my children will happily use these whereas each day was a screaming battle before. The toothbrush is a unique design which is much better too and the toothpaste is very mild and not too strong tasting for my little ones. It says the price is £4.99, if this is for the brush and paste then it’s a fantastic price. If this is only the brush, I would say it’s slightly on the expensive side but I would probably still buy it as it has really worked well for us.
What changes would you make to the Brush-Baby Chewable Toothbrush?
Rachael: I don't think it would change anything about the product. I think it has some really good features so I really can't comment on what I would change about it. It's a great little thing and handy if you just want to use it as for teething is two in one so I really can't fault it at all. The only thing I could think of is maybe a handy storage box to store it in as it can go in the fridge and you obviously want it to stay sterilized.
Rebecca: There isn't really anything I would change about the product. I do think a larger handle would make it easier for little babies to use a bit more independently, as at the moment my youngest baby, who is only four months old, needs a fair amount of help in holding the product to chew. But overall, this product does the job it's supposed to and I'm happy with it!
Kimberley: The only thing I would really change is at first I was a little overwhelmed with all the bits of paper in the box. It had six different bits of information, all of them are really useful and eye-opening, but perhaps combining some of them would be better? I definitely think more general education is need for new parents on the oral health of their babies. One thing I would suggest is perhaps a case for the silicone toothbrushes to keep them clean.
