Testing the Fisher-Price 2-sided steady speed walker

I’m a first-time mum to a 9-month-old very active baby girl. My daughter is always pulling herself up and cruising around holding onto the furniture which makes me so nervous of her falling and banging her head.

We tested the Fisher-Price 2-Sided Steady Speed Baby Walker at home on carpet and hard floor and it remained stable due to the walker having 4 wheels which put my mind at ease. My daughter was able to pull herself up to stand from sitting using the top bar without the walker falling on top of her. She particularly loved posting the shapes into the holes on the side of the walker and moving the gear stick up and down whilst moving the steering wheel from side to side. The product is small so easy to store if like me you are finding less and less room for baby toys.

The walker retails at £39.99 which is a great price for a walker that includes other activities when your baby wants to sit and play rather than be on the move constantly. The walker was extremely easy and quick to put together with simple instructions to follow however it could do with a screw to hold the top bar in place as it comes off when picking the walker up to put away.

Although advertised as ‘stead speed’ it could do with options on the wheels to change the speed for early walkers as the walker does move quickly for those who are still a little unsteady. It is advertised as 100+ songs, sounds and phrases however I wouldn’t say there are this many and there is no volume button, so it is very loud however my daughter loves the songs and sounds when pressing the horn button.

Final verdict

Overall this walker is good value for money and overall is a good product that I would recommend and carry on using however the sound is very loud, the description of ‘steady speed’ is not what it is perceived to be and I would change the product to ensure that the top bar is secured by screws to avoid it coming off when picked up and I would also like some of the other buttons make a noise when my baby is pressing them.
