How did this product make your life easier?
Carolyn: This is a great little teether and looks funky to boot. My son loved it from the second he saw it and it has been a firm favourite with him since. The monkey comes in its own sturdy little box, which is great for having in the changing bag, either for the monkey after it has been dropped or for other little bits. The bristles seem to give reasonable relief, and make application of teething gel a little easier (and definitely less painful for me!) and effective as my son can get it all around his gums well. The monkey is easy to clean and can be put in the steriliser for ease. It's small and easy to grip for little hands, and the loops of the monkey's arms mean that it's easy to attach a cord to prevent it from being thrown out of the buggy when bored.
Sophie: The Matchstick Monkey Antimicrobial Monkey Teether does keep my daughter entertained, she literally will put everything in her mouth and give it a good chew so it is reassuring to know that the monkey is safe and hygienic for her to use as well as being easy for her to pick up and hold. It also has its own box and so difficult to lose in a baby changing bag which is often overflowing with both my 7month old and toddler’s stuff!
Eleanor: The matchstick monkey teether was a big hit with my 7-month-old and has helped comfort him during periods of teething. It is a great size and its design means that it is easy for him to hold on to and direct himself which means there is less need for me to hold it for him. The teether is easy to clean and can go in the dishwasher or steriliser if needed. It can also be put in the fridge to cool down for extra soothing. The colour options are attractive and eye-catching for little ones, we had the lilac one.
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Tracy: The matchstick monkey is a cute teething toy, it comes in many eye-catching colours. It is packaged in a plastic casing which makes it clean and easy to carry around, and the casing can be used in the future to store other things. We like that it is easy for babies to handle, made of BPA free food grade silicone and with the Biocote Antimicrobial Technology, it is hygienic and easy to clean. It can be sterilised and stored in the fridge to help cool gums. The idea behind it is good, sadly my baby did not feel that way and did not want to engage with this product.
Bonnie: I would definitely recommend this monkey teether to other parents. The Matchstick Monkey Antimicrobial Monkey Teether design is great for small hands and even my 2-year-old enjoys playing with it. The material that it is made out of is smooth and looks great. It is easily cleaned and comes with instructions on how to do this. We have kept it in the little box it comes in so it's easy to take with us. It's a firm favourite in our house.
Sophie: Yes I would. I loved the design of this teether, it is easy for the baby to pick up and put in their mouth to chew on. My daughter doesn’t seem to drop this as often and will chew on it for quite a while. It does seem to ease any discomfort that she is experiencing; especially if you put the monkey in the fridge. I like that it is made out of silicone and antimicrobial material so that I know that the product is safe and hygienic. It is small enough to fit into your bag and comes with a small box so it cannot lose it easily. I also love the fact that it comes in multiple vibrant colours. The only feature that I wouldn’t use is the pre-training toothbrush feature. I wouldn’t want to put it to the back of my daughter’s mouth to reach her molars and would rather just clean her teeth with a toothbrush rather than a product that is unlikely to clean her teeth as well.
Would you choose this product to win?
Kirsteen: Yes I would. Before testing this teether, I have always been a La Sophie fan (having several of the styles on the market). Having now tried this product, I will be switching brands. The monkey teether seems stronger, doesn't fade in steriliser, is easier for my baby to hold and has antimicrobial technology. The other teethers I have are difficult for my baby to grip, have cracked along the rubber and faded when cleaned. I think this product should definitely win and should have more publicity in baby stores. I can't find one thing to fault with this product.
Saiqah: It definitely is cute and different. I think it's most unique feature is that it can be used as a first tooth rush too. The head has rubber toothbrush shape so it's great to put it in their mouths and start scrubbing! It's very easy to clean and can even go in the freezer to make it cold to soothe those sore gums!
Eleanor: I think the Matchstick Monkey Antimicrobial Monkey Teether should win the award as it is very easy for my little one (7 months old) to use. He can hold it and manoeuvre it into his mouth with ease. It has a lightweight and compact design but is also robust and effective with the head being the perfect size to reach every part of my baby’s gums. It is also very easy to clean as it can go in the dishwasher or steriliser.
What changes would you make to this product?
Bonnie: I wouldn't change the monkey teether itself but if I could I would add a little clip or fastener onto the box that the monkey teether comes in so that when I take the monkey teether out it will stay sterile and clean ready for the next time I need it for my baby. I really like this product so found it difficult to find one thing I would change.
Naazneen: I don’t think it can be improved. I’m very impressed with the design and size. If I’m nitpicking, maybe a slightly longer head on the Matchstick Monkey Antimicrobial Monkey Teether that can reach the back teeth. My son used to try and get it to the back but wouldn’t be able to. This would frustrate him. I can’t really fault it, to be honest, it’s a well-designed product.
Kirsteen: Possibly the price is slightly too high. The average teether is £4 so the monkey teether is more of a luxury item. I feel most people would purchase this as a baby gift rather for their own children. If the price was lowered by a pound it two, it would appeal to a bigger range of parents. In addition to this, I haven't seen it in many stores either so more visibility would help. I can't think of any way that the product itself could be improved as my baby loves it and I've been really impressed. Many thanks for the chance to test it.
