At a glance:
The Sophie la Girafe® teether Once Upon a Time gift box is designed to stimulate the senses and soothe your little one's gums. This is not only the first toy to stimulate each of the five senses, but it is also made from 100 percent natural rubber from the Hevea tree, meaning she is a safe and natural teething toy.
How did this product make your life easier?
Jennifer: This is a great teething toy, it is light, easy to transport and has a lovely design that keeps baby entertained as a toy as well as a teething product. Unlike other teething toy designs, the long legs of the giraffe reach the back of the baby's mouth so it is also comforting when molar teeth appear as well as for the front teeth. It wipes clean very easily.
Kim: Sofie the giraffe makes my life easier as a mum as my daughter loves playing with it. She likes moving it around in her small hands and biting different aspects of it. She also likes alternating it between her left and right hand which I think improves her manual dexterity. It is also easy to take out with us though you have to be careful it is not thrown out the pram!
Charlotte: It is a good teether for babies. They like soft rubber and it does seem to help with teething. It's easy for them to grasp the legs and hold onto it to chew. It's small enough to fit into a changing bag and easy to clean. It seems to be a popular choice and I can see why. My son has really loved testing this product.
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Laura: I'd recommend this because she's gender-neutral, seems to catch babies' eyes and is easy to hold and chew on. She's also soft to the touch, unlike some teethers. She's very easy for my son to use. She's light enough not to take up too much space in the 'baby bag', but is slightly bigger than some teethers you can buy so sometimes gets left behind when we are low on space.
Vanessa: I would recommend Sophie as it can be used as a toy or a teether. It is easy to transport, easy for the baby to hold and its friendly face and design appeal to young eyes. It is a quality product and durable. Sophie is easy to clean with no awkward crevices for dirt to hide. Sophie is nice and soft for the baby's mouth but also substantial enough to provide a challenge for gums.
Dora: Every baby I know seems to have one of these. At first, I was not sure about the design aesthetic but familiarity has made it grow on me and my baby loves it. It is more expensive than other teething toys but both the toy and its box have the sort of high quality feel that would make it a great gift for a small baby.
Would you choose this product to win?
Charlotte: There are lots of teething products on the market and whilst I do think this is a good product I don't think I would put it above all others. I think it is good though but maybe a little more expensive than others on the market. The gift sets are nice though. It's different from most on the market with its soft rubber design.
Naomi: No - I found it squidgy and this meant I was worried about it being totally clean, so I prefer using the harder surfaced solid ones that I could wipe clean or just run under the tap and be happy they were clean. Also, my little man seemed to prefer having something firm to chew as well so it wasn't always his go-to. It was very nicely presented though and would make a nice gift.
Louise: Sophie la girafe® is an iconic teether. When your baby reaches the stage where everything is going in their mouths, it’s great to have something that you can trust is safe for your baby. Sophie la girafe® is made from 100% natural rubber and food-grade paint and shaped to give your baby much-needed relief from teething. We love it!
What changes would you make to this product?
Charlotte: It's easy to wipe down but sometimes you feel as though you want to give it a good wash in soapy water, but due to the hole in the back you can't submerge this in water. That's one thing I would change about the design if I could. Apart from that, I think it is a nice design and the children like the fun animal design.
Natalie: The one thing I would change about this product would be the price. The product itself is absolutely fine but I feel at £14.99 you are simply paying for the name, rather than the product itself. This is expensive for a teether when there are other, equally as effective, models available on the market.
Jennifer: The only thing I could suggest as a potential change is perhaps to add a variety of colours or designs for the product. I have found there is a danger of getting the giraffes mixed up at baby groups as so many children were using the same product. But, this is a sign of how popular it is!
