At a glance:

Having the right bath support for your little one is important, and this little product really does make bath time easier. The soft mesh keeps babies in place and seems comfortable for them to lie back on. As you’ll know, two hands free is invaluable at bath time. It’s great, but slightly bulky so can be difficult to store if you’re short on space.

What they say:

"The Angelcare Soft-touch bath support allows you to wash you baby in the normal bathtub and has been ergonomically designed to comfortably support them, allowing you to keep your hands free to wash them, and enjoy bathtime games together. The Angelcare bath support has been designed so it is the perfect height to make bathing your little one easier. The bath support is lightweight and features an anti-slip base."

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this bath support to others as I feel like it is durable and provides value for money in the long term. The mesh seating area moulds to the baby so they remain comfy throughout the bath. It's also made of plastic, so should dry after each use and not go mouldy like other seats I have used. It is slightly bulky and doesn’t fold down, so might not be ideal for every bathroom as you need to have space to store it.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product has been good at alleviating my back pain from leaning over the bath and trying to balance baby. Now I can afford to have both hands free if need be, although of course, I would never risk leaving your baby alone in the bath. I have also used this as a seat for baby while bathing my other two little ones, but that's more of a short term added extra. Overall, the bathing experience is a lot quicker with the Angelcare Soft Touch Bath Support.

Would you choose this product to win?

I personally would choose this product over all other bath seats that I have seen, as I do not feel that the seats I have previously used were made for long term use, unlike this bath support. It is easy to clean with no hidden gaps, which means that the risk of mould growing is low. Although the price may seem a little off putting at first, this is definitely built to last.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing on this product then it would be to remove the sticker product information, as this is easily dissolved into the water. I also found when trying to remove the stickers, it left a residue that then attracted. Also, it may be worth developing a product that could be more compact, as the unit is bulky and may not suit parents who do not have room to store it.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

My little boy hated having a bath and I dreaded bath time, especially with my partner working away all week. The day I got the Angelcare Bath Support I used it the same night and was absolutely thrilled! My little boy loved bath time, there was not a tear in sight and it was so much less stressful for the both of us. I would really recommend this product - of course not every baby is the same but we loved it and for the first time ever, I cannot wait for our next bath!

How did this product make your life easier?

It is so much easier keeping both hands free. As I mentioned above, my partner works away all week so I really struggled at times giving my little one a bath - especially after a C-section. This product has made everything so much easier and happier for both of us at bath time and now my little boy actually enjoys having a bath.

Would you choose this product to win?

I haven’t used any other bath products so far, but putting the Angelcare Bath Support into the normal bath has made things so much easier for us. It’s easy to use, doesn’t slip when in the bath, my baby fits great and can’t fall out so he feels secure. I can’t believe how much he loved it!

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn’t change anything about the Angelcare Bath Support – it is available in different colours, it’s easy to use and very affordable! It’s everything you need really. I guess you could have an attachment like a bouncer to attach toys to, but you can always add your own toys to the bath anyway.

Tested by mum Laura McCourt for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product was easy to use and my baby was extremely comfortable when using it. We had used another bath support previously but this one was much better in terms of comfort, appearance and functionality. That said, I’d definitely warn other mums that the product is lightweight but quite bulky, so would not be easy to transport if we were going away for the weekend for example.

How did this product make your life easier?

I felt that my baby was totally safe and comfortable in the bath support. I found bathing my daughter difficult by myself without the help of husband before using this support. The support left both of my hands free to wash my baby and I felt confident that she was supported and safe. The water line indicator was a helpful addition to make sure I wasn’t filling the bath too full which, as a first time mum, was something I was unsure about. The whole process of bathing my baby has been made quicker and more efficient by using this product.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product above others on the market. Even though my daughter is small, I think that bigger babies would get more use out of this support for longer due to the size. My daughter has already outgrown the other bath support we used at only three-months-old, whereas I think she will be able to use this one until she can sit up on her own which is the main selling point for me.

What changes would you make to this product?

It might be useful to have a detachable play arch over the bath support (similar to the ones on baby bouncers) with toys for the baby to play with or look at during bath time. It might also be nice to have a bigger range of colours available and have a thermometer to show the temperature of the water.

Tested by mum Lorna Johnston for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this to other mums as it is a stylish product and makes baby and mother feel safer as there is no danger of baby slipping out of mum’s hands. It might also make it easier to bath a baby and a toddler at the same time as mum has both hands free. However, I would personally say it’s easier and baby enjoys it more being in the big bath with mum or dad as baby is free to ‘swim’ and splash around better and gets cold less quickly, though not all parents will have time to bath with their little ones as it does take two people to get baby in and out!

How did this product make your life easier?

The bath seat means that mum isn’t constantly holding baby in the bath i.e. hurting her back or arms and probably makes baby feel more comfortable as they feel fully supported. It also means mum has two hands to clean and play. The only problem is it probably takes longer to fill the adult bath (and uses more water) than filling a stand-alone baby bath.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product over other baby baths as it’s much more practical and comfortable for baby, as they will always feel supported by the back of this seat, it is also slightly smaller than most baby baths and might last a bit longer. However, this product would be no use for a household that doesn’t already have an adult sized bath and isn’t safe to use once baby can sit up or throw himself forward. Also, parents must be careful not to be lulled into thinking it would be safe to leave their child alone for even a short amount of time in the bath.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would make the seat position changeable so that it could suit different ages of baby and to allow slightly more of the baby’s body to be covered with water. When you only fill the bath to the line on the product, not much of baby is covered making it difficult to get baby clean and meaning baby gets cold very quickly. Also, it was fairly difficult to get under baby to clean bum and back, although I’m not sure how this problem could be easily solved. I would also add a bit more stick to the bottom of the seat to make sure it doesn’t slip within the bath. The seat could also be jazzed up a bit, it is available in different colours but could be patterned to appeal to parents and babies.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The Angelcare Bath Support makes bath time so much easier and for that reason, I would definitely recommend to a fellow mum or friend. The design of the product is the perfect shape for baby to rest on. It’s so simple to use, you just set straight into the bath and there’s nothing to put together so it is stress free. As it’s made from a solid plastic material it is very hygienic and is easy to keep clean.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product is great for bath time and makes it so much easier than trying to hold your baby in the bath. My little boy moves around a lot and I am able to feel more in control of him using this support, as he can comfortably rest back on it. It seems comfortable for him to lie on and has the grip to keep him in place.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose the Angelcare Bath Support over other products available as it is so easy and simple to use and just makes life easier when it comes to bath time. I have previously used a sponge bath support but it cracks and parts of the sponge break off. With this product it is so durable and will last indefinitely due to the strong material it is made from.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing that I felt let this product down a bit is the size – it is a little bulky and as my bathroom is quite small I find the storage of the product a little awkward. Although the design is great, maybe if there was a way to compact it down for storing it would be good. Maybe the base could fold down, just to make storage easier.

Would you recommend the Angelcare Soft-Touch Baby Bath Support to other mums?

I would definitely recommend this baby bath support to a friend/fellow mum. It is absolutely brilliant and my little boy adores his! He outgrew his normal baby bath quite quickly as he is long and chunky but this bath support has solved all of our problems. It means he can go in the big bath now and gets to kick his legs (which is his favourite thing to do). I have noticed how much more chilled out he is at bath-time, knowing he is totally secure in this support and isn't going to bang his head every time he kicks.

How did this product make your life easier?

The Angelcare Soft-Touch Baby Bath Support makes my life so much easier as a mum. It means I have both hands free to wash and play with my baby, which makes bath-time so much more relaxed and fun. It also has saved me a lot of back and arm ache, as my baby boy weighs 15lbs, it's a struggle to have to hold him constantly whilst bathing him, this support means I don't have to any more, phew!

Would you choose this product to win?

My baby is so relaxed in it and it has made bath-time a breeze rather than the huge stress it used to be. I would recommend it for anyone with a big/long baby too, as even though my baby is long and chunky, he's still only 13 weeks old and can't support his own head yet, this allows for that and means he is totally safe and comfortable too.

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn't actually change a thing about this bath support. It fits all of our needs perfectly and has taken the stress out of bath-time, which hopefully means my baby will enjoy the water rather than dread it, as we want to take him swimming soon. Absolutely brilliant product, I have bought one for my sister in law who has just had a baby too.

Tested by mum Jennifer Orr for the Mother & BabyAwards 2017:

Would you recommend the Angelcare Soft-Touch Baby Bath Support to other mums?

Yes, it made the transition from our baby bath to this very easy. George loves it, he can see around him, his head is supported, it is lightweight and easy to clean. The price is a bit steep, but I would still buy it. I would consider buying this from birth as I loved using it that much. Hopefully other colours are available.

How did this product make your life easier?

This support really has improved our experience of bath time. George can now kick around time, can see around him and interacts with me and his daddy. It generally has made our life so much easier. It also helps keeping his head out of the water which used to really upset him and make him cry. I love it!

Would you choose this product to win?

I think this item is ground-breaking in baby bath time. It's lightweight, spacing saving, easy to clean, and looks pretty cool. It encourages my babies development as it encourages him to kick and move and interact with me and his daddy.

What changes would you make to this product?

I think the packaging that comes with the bath support should be more informative. A few stickers doesn't really boast about the benefits of using this support. They were also really difficult to get off! Maybe also a wee hook to hang my sponge off would be handy and useful. Or could be used to hang the support up out of the way.

Tested by mum Hollie Quilter for the Mother & Baby Awards 2017:

Would you recommend the Angelcare Soft-Touch Baby Bath Support to other mums?

I would recommend the bath support to a friend, it supported my baby so I didn't have to hold behinde her head, it’s easy to clean and lightweight, and it also had a bit on the top to hang it up out of the reach of my older children.

How did this product make your life easier?

It was definitely more handy to have it to save my right arm aching from supporting my baby’s head in the main bath.

What changes would you make to this product?

There was only one slight thing I noticed; occasionally it would slide slightly during baby’s bath not much but enough that I was aware of it a few times even though I didn't let go of the support, so I would suggest some kind of suction perhaps for underneath to stop it sliding that's the only thing I could suggest to improve it.

Tested by mum Stefania Fleming for the Mother & Baby Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

I absolutely love this product, so much so that we have ditched our old bath support and now use this for every bath time. I feel as though my baby is very supported in the bath support and not slumped down into a hammock like seat like our previous one. I would definitely recommend it to other mums and think it is well worth the price.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

I like how this product is slightly raised making me feel closer to my baby as our bath is quite deep. I also like the materials that have been used and the ventilation holes, our previous support was made of mesh and was hard to clean. The fill line is clearly marked and easy to see.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

I wouldn't change anything about this product.

Tested by mum Rachel Robinson-Tingle for the Mother & Baby Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

I would recommend the angelcare bath support to a friend because I have found this to be one of the best bath supports I have used. I have found its bigger then others on the market. Easy to place into the bath and then place baby onto it. I love the soft touch support as it has small holes in it so baby has water all around him, at all times making bathing enjoyable.Well build.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

Very easy to use, no need to make sure that the suckers are stuck to the base of a bath, as has a rubber support. you simply just place the support in and away you go. Supports baby really well. Good idea to have the small holes in allowing the water to pass through. Cleans easily after use.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

I would say the support that goes between baby legs should be made slightly bigger. I found that baby liked to kick his legs resulting in him slightly sliding down into the bath. But overall very happy with the bath support.

Tested by mum Ashleigh Kirkpatrick for the Mother & Baby Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

The bath support is incredibly well made. My daughter found it a lot more comfortable to lie on due to the mesh material rather than other supports which are made of hard plastic. The rubber grip around the bottom means it does not move around in the bath and it is neat enough that a sibling can fit in the bath at the same time!

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

My husband works shifts so at times bath time is left solely to me. This support means I can bath both chiller at the same time and in a safe way. Newborns are so slippery when wet but this gave me full confidence when bathing my daughter.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

Perhaps little suction cups on the bottom to give extra stability.

Tested by mum Becky Carr for the Mother & Baby Awards 2016:

Why would you recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum?

This product is ideal for Mums wanting to bath their babies in the big bath. I found it useful being able to bath my 5 month old and 2 year old at the same time. My 5 month old is a very big baby and I was not expecting him to fit in this bath support very well, however it was easily big enough for him and he looks extremely comfortable. The plastic feels soft and smooth and is not cold to the touch. It is designed so that the water drains away from it completely. It even has a loop so that you can hang it up out of the way. I will be highly recommending this product to other mums. I have used it every night since it has arrived, my baby loves it - it supports him in a very good position for hair washing without having to tilt him back further, and it still allows him to splash his feet in the water.

How does this product make your life easier as a mum?

Before this product arrived, I would get an aching back during every bath time trying to support my baby in the bath and wash him with one had. This removes the problem completely and has made bath time 100% more enjoyable.

If you could change one thing about this product what would it be?

There is nothing I would change. It is expensive for a bath support, but it very well designed. The quality and ease of use make this extremely good value for money.

2015 – Shortlisted for 'Best Bathtime Product' Award

Angelcare’s Soft-Touch Baby Bath Support allows mums and dads free hands for washing baby safely. The product is comfortable and the ‘hammock’ effect allows water through, which makes for easy cleaning. The angle is perfect for washing hair without getting soap in baby's eyes.

The non-slip base seems to work well but suction cups would give greater peace of mind, especially with an enthusiastic toddler  in the bath too! It’s also quite big, taking up a lot of space in the bath and does not collapse or fold, which makes storage complicated although it does come with a loop so that it can be hung up. A total plus about the size is that baby can sit in the support outside the bath – while you take siblings out of the bath or use the loo. It’s also nice because it allows babies to enjoy their bath – it’s fun as well as functional; the product is not just about getting in, getting clean and getting out.

It is expensive in comparison to other products on the market but it is brilliant and comes highly recommended.

2014 – Shortlisted for 'Best Bathtime Product' Award

Angelcare Soft-Touch Bath Support is strong and sturdy, and doesn’t slip around the bath. It requires no assembly, is easy to clean and dries quickly.

The product includes a ‘water line’, which tells you how full to make the bath, and also moulds to baby’s shape. It’s suitable for newborns but is quite bulky, taking up a lot of space in a bath and requires room for storage.

It’s a bit more expensive than other similar products but its convenience and quality make it worth the price.
