At a glance:

Munchkin's Sit & Soak Baby Tub ensures your baby will be sitting safely in an upright position while they enjoy their bathtime with its padded backrest and support bump. Your baby will be secure and happy, and your mind will be at ease.

How did this product make your life easier?

Kirsten: I felt confident that my son was bathing safely with little need for me to support him. I am always with him but do not need to be holding him as the design of the bath is great for that. It saved me from running a whole adult-sized bath for him to use a bath support in, and therefore it reduced my water usage. It is also space-saving so it takes up less room in the house or car (when travelling) compared to a normal baby-bath.

Katie: Well what can I say about this product, I can say where has it been in my life so far with my three-month-old. When the bath arrived I thought it was slightly too large but then I saw it was meant to fit baby until 12 months. This bath means that I don't have to fill an entire bath just for a small baby, I use my shower head over the bath to fill it. I have no fear that my baby will go underwater if I let go of her or slip due to the ridge in the bottom assisting her to sit up. We love our bath and so does my daughter.

Rebecca: This product was very useful for bathing our newborn as it's so compact it felt safe and secure and gave me the confidence to bath her knowing that she couldn't go anywhere as she fitted snugly into the tub. The padded back reduced any slipping as did the rubber grips on the base of the tub. The hook feature meant I could store the bath up off the floor.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Lauren: I would recommend this item to a friend, and mums every time as its made my life easier, the bath is designed to keep babies in an upright position, it has padding right where you want it. It's modern, comfortable and it has the perfect max line. So it's not heavy to move around when full. It also has the Pull-tab drain to make it easier to clean. It has padding for them to sit up comfortably. The handle even doubles up like a hook for easy storage.

Eleanor: My baby was able to sit comfortably in the bathtub whilst being supported. The water level comes up higher than in any other baby bath I’ve seen which keeps my baby warmer and he seems happier to stay in the bath for longer periods of time. It is very easy and quick to fill and empty and the valve means that it is easy to clean.

Sarah: I would recommend this any mum looking for an easy and affordable baby bath. The design has been well thought out to make life easy for mum and comfortable for baby right up to one year and possibly beyond depending on the size of your baby. It is so easy to fill and empty and also extremely easy to use. The design of the handle makes it easy to store as it can be hung on a hook out of the way and I think the design of the plug is my favourite feature. My oldest child found it very easy to pull the plug on her baby bath but they are not going to happen with this one. Great product.

Would you choose this product to win?

Dominique: Yes I most certainly would, other products are cumbersome and inconvenient, they don’t drain they are in the lay flat position and usually do not fit in a smaller sink if at all. I suffer from a very bad back so having the bath at my level is a huge selling point for me. The one thing that makes this product stand out for me is the supported sitting groove it’s secure and comfortable for both mum and baby.

Alexia: I would choose this based on the chair like support confidently allowing the parent's hands to be freed up to do the bath time routine. The size of the bath allows the baby to be submerged in water without needing to be laid back and feeling like they aren't fully supported whilst in the water. There is nothing in the bath which allows for grime to build up and drains away easily. Lightweight for carrying when full.

Hannah: There isn’t anything that significantly sets this bath apart from its competitors in my eyes. It is priced at the same price point as its closest similar well-known rival but does have the added advantage of the hanging hook/handle although this comes at the expense of making it a larger more cumbersome piece of equipment. If the “ white-hot technology” on the plug worked it would be a major selling feature and something that would make me buy it ahead of other baths as you don’t need an extra thermometer. However, this did not work at all. I tried testing this technology by pouring boiling water into the bath and there was no change in the colour of the plug meaning that if parents were relying on that to keep baby safe in the water it could cause harm, a separate thermometer is needed. There was also no other documentation about the “white-hot technology” and I couldn’t find any online when looking for more information on what it should look like when activated.

What changes would you make to this product?

Katie: If I could change one thing about this product would have an option to include bath toys within it somehow, maybe a little draw underneath it, as I often find when I've put the baby in it I always forget to put some bath toys in it. I don't think it will see my baby through to 12 months as she is so long but hopefully, it will a good length of time. Also, storage is a big problem with this item as it is so bulky, maybe look at some kind of hook for hanging it up.

Kirsten: I would love to see a version of this in more eco-friendly material. I hope we will be able to re-home it so that it can be re-used when we are finished with it, but otherwise, I am not sure how we will dispose of it. Everyone is becoming more aware of our plastic footprint so I would hope munchkin could look into this in their product development. It wasn't clear from the packaging if this was made out of recycled plastic or if it could be recycled in some way.

Rebecca: I think the price is around a third more expensive than similar products on the market and feel there would be some resistance there. It could possibly offer the product in a variety of colours or themes to make the product even more appealing. I also feel that this tub is too large for most standard sinks which is something to consider as it limits where it be used.
