BabyBjorn Bliss Baby Bouncer in Woven Melange

by Emily Gilbert |
Updated on

The ergonomic BabyBjorn Bouncer Bliss baby bouncer has gentle and natural rocking, completely powered by the baby meaning no batteries or cords are required. This encourages babies' aerobic motion, as they rock in response to their own movements.

Specifically developed for young babies, the bouncer is available in a selection of different fabric types which are extra gentle against your baby's delicate skin. Your baby can rest and play safely and comfortably in the baby bouncer, learning as they develop balance and motor skills, while you get a chance to enjoy a cup of tea or simply take five.

This much-loved bouncer has now been reimagined with a new selection of colours and a thoughtfully designed fabric - Woven Mélange.

The bluesign® approved fabric is made from 100% polyester and meets strict ecological and toxicological requirements which means it's produced in a resource-conserving way with a minimum impact on people and the environment. This is good news for the planet but it's also more gentle on baby's delicate skin, and more comfortable for you. It's moisture-wicking to keep you and baby cool, and is stain-resistant so you can keep it looking at its best, even after a leaky nappy or milky spit-up. The new style is available in Light Grey and Light Pink from 21 August 2024.

Testing the BabyBjorn Bouncer Bliss

The Baby Bjorn Bouncer Bliss is a super stylish product with automatic appeal to many parents because of the high-end appearance. Testers commented that the material is high-quality and feels soft to the touch.

"My little one sits comfortably in the chair and manages to rock it herself," says tester Daniella. "You can easily move the bouncer into the various positions without any trouble and it folds away really easily. It feels and looks an expensive product and would look great in anyone’s home."

"The BabyBjorn Bouncer Bliss gave me somewhere I felt my baby was safe whilst I grabbed the opportunity to shower or make some breakfast!" said Lucy. "Being upright meant that he could still clearly see me and I could see him whilst doing these things. I also found that the options for the seating position really helped as a more upright location for him to be after feeding. This reduced his wind and the spilling up."

"I love the design too," added Lucy. "As a design-conscious mum I was really keen to have a quality product that my baby would love but that would also compliment my house. The colours available, fabric choices and combinations were far better than other available makes. This coupled with the simplicity of the design and mechanism made this a no-brainer."

Fellow mum Brogan agreed: "This product makes my life easier as a mum because it’s such a lovely chair! The fabric is soft and beautiful and folds completely flat which is amazing because it means it can be taken anywhere and I have taken it on picnics so my little one has somewhere comfortable to sit. I absolutely love this chair, it’s definitely a much better version of my chair and I can’t fault it in any way the fastenings are secure too which I like as I find some feel quite cheap and not as strong."

Our parent testers found it easily wipes clean too when their little one spits up on it without having to completely wash it.

"There are plenty of videos explaining the use and washing instructions which I prefer to do rather than reading the instructions! Washing at 40 degrees means its safe for future babies to use," says Helen who also loved that there were no wires or batteries required to use the Bouncer Bliss.

"I'm so glad you don’t need batteries which not only is great for the planet but means it never runs out."

Final thoughts

When Helen summed up the product, she raved: "Personally other bouncers I have used either have batteries or have been flimsy. I think that there are no other bouncers that would compare to the BabyBjorn Bouncer Bliss looking at quality and durability. I feel that the brand is impressive and I would be proud to be seen with the product. The material is so soft and this is clearly the case as my little one often falls asleep whilst bouncing. The product is classy and simplistic. I love how you can update the bouncer with additional covers in different colours to personalise it. I think the material is hard-wearing and would last a long time. I think it would last years even with washing. I love the fact you can buy an additional bar for toys. The Scandi design is classy."

Jo agreed that she would 100 per cent recommend the Bouncer Bliss to other mums. "How lightweight it is, the good quality material and the enjoyment of my little one using it makes it all worthwhile. I love how it moulds to my baby's shape, making my baby feel comfortable at all times. I have noticed that she even whines less as well - so that is a win-win situation for me!"

However Daniella felt that the toy bar should be included with the initial price: "Although the toy bar attachment is available to buy separately, this should be included in the price. If this was included, this would be a 10/10 product. I feel you could get away with not having the toy when your baby is a newborn but as they get slightly older, the addition of the toy bar would be necessary, therefore increasing the consumer’s cost. I feel this would put a lot of people off initially as it already is a higher price than lots of alternative brands."
