The Guardianfix 3 is the latest version of the Guardianfix series from Kiddy. This new car seat builds on the proven safety record of the previous model. The new impact shield system provides perfect protection, especially for small children. Additional functions such as a deeper reclined position; an adjustable five-position leg rest to provide comfort; and enhanced security, thanks to the superb adjustability and ergonomics; will all mean that a child will travel in ultimate safety.
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Grace: This is a safe and reliable car seat which is an essential item for parents who drive. This product meets all the required safety measures for a forward facing car seat, taking a huge weight off your mind that your child will be kept safe if in a collision. Being a group 1-2-3 category car seat takes out the need to keep researching, changing, upgrading and paying out for seats as your child grows. The one seat will take you through from your baby at around a year until they are 12 years old, making it exceedingly good value for money.
Fatima: I personally would not recommend this car seat. I like the aesthetic of the product and the instructions on the side of the car seat make it easy to install. It is easily transferable between vehicles. However, I used it as a Group 2 seat for a 13kg three-year-old who is short and it did not work. She did not look comfortable, safe or secure. She fell asleep at one point in the car journey and as the side rests are very wide it felt like she was barely kept in her seat.
Shazia: The Guardianfix 3 car seat is a good looking practical option. My three-year-old son was keen to get into it as soon as it came out of the box! The green colour is fun and attractive, definitely appealing for a small child. Once fitted the car seat felt very secure. My mind was at ease knowing my child was comfortable and safe.
How did this product make your life easier?
Carmel: The Isofix attachment is really useful and it is great that it can be attached without the Isofix which is useful for one of our vehicles that don't have Isofix connections. We used it for our two-year-old and tried it with our five-year-old as well. It was easy to convert between the two and both children enjoyed sitting in the seat. The eyeline indicator was very useful to ensure that we had adjusted the seat correctly.
Rebecca: The Guardianfix 3 forward facing car seat makes life easier in the sense that you can feel confident that your baby/child will be secure and safe in the car. Due to the seat growing with the child you may only need to buy one until they are twelve. The seat was also fairly easy to insert.
Kathryn: This seat is easy to fit into the car using the Isofix as it is clear when it is properly secured. The seat belt easily threads into the impact shield and in all the weeks that I have been testing this car seat I have never had any problems securing the seatbelt. This has made securing my daughter into the seat fast and straightforward. The eye level mark also meant that I was quickly reassured the height of the seat was suitable.
Would you choose this product to win?
Steve: I would choose the Guardianfix 3 over other competitor car seats because it adjusts well to a growing child. This will prevent me from having to replace the car seat too soon. My son also seemed to be very comfortable and was able to fall asleep easily during car journeys, which is normally a good sign!
Lorena: I feel very strongly about car seat safety. This product meets all safety standards for an infant car seat. However, I can not ignore the facts that rear-facing for children up to the age of 6 years old is significantly safer than forward facing. Therefore I can not recommend that this car seat should win as I would never transport my children in it, regardless of all the safety features its boasts.
Leanne: I wouldn't choose the Kiddy Guardianfix 3 as I already own a car seat which provides the same structural support with a bolster across the child's lap. This product doesn't have the same secure and, solid feel that my current car seat already provides, although it is a nice looking, vibrant product.
What changes would you make to this product?
Stephanie: If there was one thing I needed to change for the Kiddy GuardianFix 3, it would be to make it rear facing.
Nadia: I think this is a fantastic product, however, if I were to change one thing I would like to see the ability to recline a bit more than it does. This would make it more suitable for the younger age range. In addition, I noticed that my sons head would fall forward rather uncomfortably at times when he fell asleep in the car seat instead of him resting head on the headrest. Perhaps with a bit more recline would mean this was avoided. Other than that, I was very impressed with this car seat!
Sana: If could change one thing about the Gardianfix3 car seat, I would want the fabric cover of the impact shield to be replaceable. Given its position, it was liable to be encrusted in mess. There is no effective way to clean it as the fabric is fixed to the impact shield.
