At a glance:

The Chicco Next2me Dream is the newest side-sleeping crib of the Chicco family. Designed to allow you to sleep next to your baby without sharing the same bed, it can also be used as a side-sleeping crib, a stand-alone crib or a travel crib. It features a one-hand opening side panel to easily change the configuration, fixed or rocking modes and eleven adjustable height levels.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Ellen: I would recommend this product to a fellow mum as I think it meets all the requirements you need for your little one. It's safe and sturdy with plenty of space. It is a nice size and doesn't take too much space in the room. It fits well with the bed and is made of a breathable material which gives you lots of reassurance. It is also light and easily transported.

Stacey: I would recommend this product as it is easy to build and to move around if you need to take it on holiday. It is very versatile. The product does not take up too much room and it is an attractive baby crib that can match your bedroom decor. It is possible to attach baby toys to the crib safely which can soothe them throughout the night.

Michelle: I would recommend this product. It was easy to put together and folds away into a carry bag so it is great if you want to travel. The size is good so you don't have to worry about getting another crib as they get bigger because you can keep it up until six months. You can rock your little one to sleep which is a nice added extra but you do need to reach both legs to click from static to rocking so depending on your room layout this could be difficult.

How did this product make your life easier?

Samantha: This was a good product. I felt it was safe, sturdy and easy to put together. I liked the mesh panel as I could see my baby when they were next to me. As I have a tall baby, I appreciated that there was a lot of room for them as they grow. It is great that you can rock the baby when they are in the crib.

Holly: As a new mum, I was worried about co-sleeping with my baby but knew that the closeness was something I definitely wanted. The Next2Me crib offers me a safe way to be close to my baby. As I had a c-section, it was ideal that I could pick my baby up to breastfeed in the night without too much strain.

Rachel: Bedside Cribs are a perfect alternative to co-sleeping, eliminating any worries you might have. With this crib, your little one has his or her own sleeping space. It also makes life a little easier in the night between feeds as I can tend to my little one quickly and without fuss.

Would you choose this product to win?

Ellen: I think this product should win. Its a good price for a really well thought through and well-designed crib. It felt high-quality with high-quality materials. It is versatile as I was able to adjust the height to fit our needs and have it on a tilt or rocking depending on what my little one needed.

Stacey: I would choose this product above others and I would like it to win. The main reason would be its adaptability, robustness and it provides great safety. The mesh side panel is breathable and allows you to keep a check on your baby from your bed without disturbing them. I thought the product was very attractive and in neutral colours which would suit most bedrooms.

Michelle: The Chicco Next2Me Dream is a nice large bedside crib that can be used as a standalone crib and for travel. The versatility is great and it will last until your little one is six-months-old. Having the padded sides gives nice extra protection.

What changes would you make to this product?

Samantha: Price aside, there are two things I would change. I found the mattress was a little too hard but as my little one grew and gained weight, this issue didn't matter as much. I would also make the material around the mechanism less bulky.

Holly: I think this product is a little overpriced and would be very expensive for a lot of families. I also think that because of the size, it would be good to have the option of a nest to insert while they are tiny as I think most babies are comforted by smaller spaces.

Ellen: The only negative I found was that the mattress was a little hard and my little one seemed a bit uncomfortable. I know its important for them to have support for their backs but this one just seemed a bit too much. I used another mattress which was a bit softer and she was much happier.
