Chicco Natural Feeding Bottle

At a glance:

Perfect for breastfeeding mums, these Chicco bottes have a soft, nipple-like teat, with an excellent slow flow. With a unique design, the teat is on the side rather than in the middle of the bottle, improving comfort and ease of feeding. We highly recommend.

What they say:

“Chicco introduces NaturalFeeling, the bottle range designed to replicate the instinctive way baby feeds. Thanks to the truly angled teat, NaturalFeeeling ensures correct and intuitive suction, just like at your breast, giving you peace of mind. The only range that comes with the truly anti-colic angled teat, for peaceful feeding. The Chicco NaturalFeeling All you Need Starter Set comes with everything you need to feed your baby and allows you to enjoy every moment of it.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Previously I have used products from Avent and Tommee Tippee, but I would recommend Chicco because of the quality of the bottles! They are made from really good quality plastic, have a nice teat and look more expensive than others I have seen, even though the price point is amazing. I would recommend it for mums that are still breastfeeding as I think the transition for baby is easier with this teat.

How did this product make your life easier?

As someone who is breastfeeding and expressing, this bottle made it easier for my baby to go from breast to bottle. The teat is very soft, much like a nipple, and my baby found it easy to suck.

Would you choose this product to win?

Potentially. I would definitely choose it over the Tommee Tippee bottles I have tried, but I think Avent might come top of the list, as I thought these bottles were a little wide for my hand to hold. However, I would absolutely recommend these bottles to other breastfeeding mums, as preference is always personal.

What changes would you make to this product?

I felt that the bottle was a little wide for me to hold, so this could be improved by slim-lining the product.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This was the first time I had ever used a Chicco bottle – we used Tommee Tippee for my first child and now my son who has just turned five months. I really like these bottles, but as they are not specifically anti-colic, I would not recommend them to all mums. That said, I would recommend them for babies that don’t suffer with colic, as they do the job very well and are amazing value for money.

How did this product make your life easier?

I found that this bottle was incredibly easy to hold and so ergonomic. I felt that Chicco had thought about how this should be shaped to help with feeding, not only for ease of baby feeding but also for us to hold it comfortably. The shape is by far the best I have used – he took to this teat very well as it is so soft and akin to the nipple.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes, I would choose this product to win an award because of the shape of the bottle as it makes feeding so much easier. I already had a Tommee Tippee steriliser but if we were starting over, I would certainly buy a complete set of Chicco products as they are fantastic!

What changes would you make to this product?

I can’t think of anything except to make them specifically ‘anti-colic’ bottles. But anyway, my son loved them!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

The bottle is easy to clean and sterilize, the silicone teat feels nice and mimics the breast much better than other bottles we tried. My baby latched onto this really easily and fully, meaning there was no leakage. We've also noticed that she doesn't get particularly windy from it – I’d definitely recommend this to any mums who struggle with fussy babies.

How did this product make your life easier?

My baby has been breastfed from birth and we were late in introducing a bottle (around three and a half months in). This meant she wouldn't take any bottles. We went through so many different brands and types. However, she took this bottle first time! We were so relieved and it's taken away a lot of stress. My husband can easily feed the baby now and I can get a couple of hours to myself.

Would you choose this product to win?

The price is great compared to other bottles on the market, particularly those who claim to be the saviour to those babies that won't take a bottle. We went through so many and my baby refused all of them, either she gagged or it leaked everywhere. This product worked well for her first time, so it should definitely, definitely win!

What changes would you make to this product?

Perhaps that the packaging was difficult to get into. Also, the bottles were quite large to hold, they could potentially be smaller.

Tested by mum Nikki Abbott for the Mother&Baby Awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this bottle to a fellow mum because I believe the design is a lot better than others I have used on the market. It remained in good condition after cold water sterilising, which is not always the case, and was easy to keep clean due to having a wide opening. My baby took this bottle with no issues at all!

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes my life easier as the design is such high quality and the bottle is easy to hold. The print used for the measurements, up the side, is clear and precise in limited light which is very helpful when trying not to wake a sleeping baby.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this item above others on the market due to the expert design which makes baby feel like he is still breastfeeding. I also liked the teat being to the side as it is very easy the hold the bottle while feeding.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would say that it is quite pricey in comparison to others on the market.
