An evolution of their best selling Elvie Stride, which was launched back in 2022, the Elvie Stride 2 promises to continue their hands-free and quiet design, while offering hospital-grade suction, combined with comfort of lightweight and ultra-soft silicone cups to help optimize milk output.

Featuring new ultra-soft silicone cups, they hug the natural curve of the breast for even greater comfort and discretion. The new cups also help to enhance nipple fit and comfort, so mothers can optimize their milk output.

Testing the Elvie Stride 2

When I previously tested the Elvie Stride I was very impressed with how effective it was at helping to express milk compared to my manual pump. I was keen to find out if the Elvie Stride 2 lived up to the same expectation that the original pump did!

Build

Arriving in a really neat, compact box, the Elvie Stride 2 comes with literally everything for your expressing journey. It comes with two hospital grade pumps for double-expression, and the great thing is it's rechargeable - so you don't have to be limited to one place when expressing, and you can quite literally express on the go!

There aren't many pieces to put together either, making it really easy to put together when you need to express.

Usability

One thing I found similar to the original Elvie Stride, was that it was super easy to use! Even if you're a novice to expressing, everything is straightforward and can be adapted to you, which is something I find really unique with Elvie.

I loved that it came with a nipple sizing tool so that you can correctly use the right nipple cups when expressing, which helps to optimise the amount of milk you can get. I found this particularly handy, and something that didn't come with the original Elvie, as otherwise it feels like a guessing game.

The Elvie Stride 2 also comes with six sizes to suit every woman, so there's no additional expense if you need to use a different size to the standard one that most breast pumps offer.

One thing that I didn't like was it's not suitable for sterilising and has to be cleaned by boiled water in a bowl. While not ideal if you're in a rush, it's not a massive inconvenience if you clean and sterilise straight after use. I wouldn't let this put me off buying the pump though, as it goes above and beyond otherwise!

Performance

With two cups that have a max of 150ml, there are bigger cups on the market but it doesn't take two minutes to empty out and carry on pumping if needed. The pouring spout you need to ensure you are directly over a bottle or storage container, but otherwise it empties really smooth, so no crying over spilt milk!

I loved that it can be completely tailored to my needs as well, and it can all be easily controlled through the Elvie App. I thought the tracking feature was good too, as it was easier to see a trend when expressing.

Final verdict

Overall, I was really impressed with the Elvie Stride 2. I think it can seem a little expensive in terms of other items available on the market, however you really do pay for the value and quality of the produdct.

I love that despite it being a double pump, you can really use it as a single pump if needed, and I think the nipple sizing guide is a huge benefit. I would highly recommend to other mums.
