Testing V&ME Baby & Toddler Meals
Our parent testers were excited to spend less time in the kitchen and give the V&ME meals a go, with many reporting back that they thought the concept (and food) was excellent.
"I loved testing out the V&Me meals", said mum tester Clare, "my baby enjoyed almost all the meals and surprised me by being able to eat things I wouldn’t have expected, for example breaking up a mini fillet of fish himself and eating it without my help. I felt the meals were as good as I could cook myself with a much wider menu than I could prepare in a week. Daily deliveries meant I knew the food was really fresh, but I went for an early slot so didn’t experience being able to give my baby ready warmed food straight after the deliver (which I can imagine would be amazingly easy). Reheating the meals was really easy and since I did the trial they have introduced evening deliveries which would suit me much better as I like to get out early and then be back in time for lunch."
Mum tester India also loved how much easier these meals made her life. "This was an absolutely fantastic product and has made my life substantially easier over the trial period. I would fully recommend it to any parents feeling overwhelmed by the constant cycle of meal prep/feeding/clean up etc. My child loved the dishes and we had clean plates at most mealtimes. It makes mealtimes so much less stressful and relieves the constant pressure of worrying about what you are preparing for the next meal time. It is all clearly homemade and of an excellent quality, which also meant I felt no “mum guilt” like I would after using a supermarket bought pouch. I also felt like it provided a range of flavours/textures/styles so it felt very well suited to trying to avoid fussy eating."
Mum Alice also said for those starting their weaning journey with their baby, V&ME meals are ideal. "If you are worried about the weaning journey this product is a must. I didn't realise a product like this existed on the market. You can literally open the pots, and feed straight from the pot, or heat up and then serve. Each day the little ones were treated to a main plus dessert. The food is also very delicious. I would happily finish off a pot if the twins didn't need the whole thing. I also packed up leftovers and sent them off to creche with them the next day which was great too."
When it came to product improvement the feedback was mixed and only small adjustments. Three of our mum testers commented how they'd like the containers that the dishes come in to be labelled, while for another mum the price point was a little too expensive. Another mum mentioned how she'd love for the brand to introduce a very beginner baby meals, where you're just starting to introduce your baby to flavours, while another mum said more finger food options would have been great.
Final thoughts
If you're looking to cut down time spent in the kitchen but still want your baby or toddler to receive healthy, nutritious meals, then V&ME Baby and Toddler Meals could work quite nicely. With meals either arriving to your door already hot, or just needing a quick whizz in the microwave, you really are relieving one of the many stresses of being a parent while still ensuring your little one is receiving good food. For some the price point may be a little too high, but for many the free time and extra thing it takes off of their to-do list can make it worth it.
