We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review…

How did this product make your life easier?

Claire: As a breastfed baby it took a little while for my daughter to get to grips, literally, with feeding from a cup. Initially she struggled trying to use the cup but after persisting she soon managed to drink herself. With no assistance from me. Making my life much easier at meal times. She has managed this from around 9 months old.

Michele: I wouldn't say that this product really makes my life easier as a mum but it is a convenient product to use and it is safe for me to let my daughter use it unaided as the liquid doesn't come out too fast. She is just learning to drink independently and this is a great little cup for her to practice with.

Gemma: Since using this sippy cup I have been able to give my son more opportunity to drink this himself and to make it readily available to him. This has meant that I don't need to worry about spills and leaks and I can let my baby drink himself without fussing around him. This also means that there is much less clean up as with other brands as he has often wet all his clothes due to leaks from cups.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Amy: I would and have recommended this product to several friends already. The main reason I’ve recommended it is because it doesn’t need to be tipped, which is a problem some friend’s children have had too. I think the combination of the simple teat with the straw (making it non-drip) makes it a really practical cup. It’s easy to clean, feels solid, easy to open/close (screw top) and a good size.

Daisy: I would recommend this product first of all because the price point is amazing! I couldn't believe this was so cheap when the quality is so good. Also baby really loved the colours on the cup (not boring like other ones). I love that it is so easy to clean as sometimes with the flip mechanism it can be tricky but this was easy. It's a robust cup because it constantly gets thrown on the floor and is still going strong. It also doesn't leak when tipped up because of the straw so it's less to clean up

Christine: I would recommend this product to fellow parents predominantly because it does not leak when out and about or when shaken! It is easy to clean and fill. I also think it’s sturdy and good value for money. I would also recommend it for drinking milk and water as the spout is large enough for both to fit though easily.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Daisy: I would be slightly hesitant just because it didn't have handles which really would have made this a 10 out of 10. However we loved this so much that I went and purchased the version with handles. That would be the only time that I would choose an alternative but even without the handles it's still a great product, it's just personally the addition of the handles really tops off the product.

Ruth: I’m not sure if I would choose it above others but it is a good price. Easily affordable compared to some and is very usable and washed well. It’s also easy to take it apart to sterilise it to avoid any horrible or nasty smells that sometimes happen with these types of cups. I do like some different types too.

Poonam: I do think there are some better products in the market so not sure I would personally re-purchase it myself. I found due to the sippy cup not having a valve we had a lot of spills and accidents. Also soaking wet clothes which is not ideal especially when out and about. For indoor use it is great but because it is not a non-spill it means we prefer to not use it out and about and only use it indoors.

What changes would you make to this product?

Claire: I would make the cup available in different sizes to suit different ages. The cup size is generally fine but when it states on the packaging that it is suitable from four months old onwards, I know for a fact my daughter would have struggled to figure it out at 4. Perhaps a baby who has been bottle feeding would find this much easier.

Gemma: To improve this product, the plastic used could be more widely recyclable and thinner. At the moment, this sippy cup can be weighty when filled with water/juice. It is also difficult for my son to open himself. it could be improved if the baby is able to find the teat himself and then drink by himself. Also, perhaps a wrist strap could be used to make sure this can be attached to the pram.

Poonam: I would make a non-spill version so that the baby/infant can safely be allowed to explore the cup and self feed without the risk of them spilling the entire contents over themselves. I understand there are some drawbacks to having a non-spill cup as it is more difficult for babies to suck the water out of the cup. However, for us this is something quite important and what we do look for in sippy cups.
