We spoke to these real parent testers to get their review...

How did this product make your life easier?

Paula: They are all eco friendly and 100% compostable, biodegradable and are made from natural plant materials. They feel very strong and sturdy which is good for the little ones who choose to throw/drop them on the floor, if they break they can be disposed of back into the earth. No more extra cookware to cook the food in first as food can be microwaved in this range and heatproof up to 120 degrees.

Jodie: First of all, this product is so easy to clean! Smooth, easy wipe surfaces, no ridges etc. Being able to pop this in the dishwasher is such a time saver. The little sections of the plate make it easier to separate different portions of food, allowing space for a sauce, or dip etc that you may want to keep separate from the main part.

Holly: The weaning range offered products to support the whole of the weaning process which I liked. For example, this range offers simple bowls, spoons and sippy cups to start with, then progressed to offering plates with different sections for different food types, cutlery and beakers. It was nice for one brand to be able to provide products for weaning that can aid your child as they develop through the weaning process from first tastes through to being able to feed themselves. This means that you don’t have to waste time researching what equipment is required for the next step of weaning as one brand has provided it all.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

Paula: I would recommend this product for a number of reasons. It has a fun child friendly design that children can easily identify with. The plate ranges from 12 months upwards, it has 3 different good size sections which is nice and it makes it easier for children to finger feed or independently eat with cutlery. The bowl ranges from 6 months upwards. It has good depth and so far the foods I have served haven’t left any stained rims like the more plastic bowls do. I Love how the spoon has a little lip at the end so it sits perfectly over the side of the bowl and doesn’t slide about. The cutlery is easy enough to grip which makes it perfect for little ones to feed themselves. The sippy cup is suitable from 4 months upwards. The handles make it simple enough for baby to grip enabling them to drink from it. The beaker is the perfect size for the more independent children to drink from.

Elizabeth: Being dishwasher safe is a key advantage over the eco alternative of bamboo. The sippy cup is easy to open to refill (unlike the popular Tommee Tippee ones). Having said that, the mouthpiece is constantly open, which makes travelling with it harder. The sections of the plate are great, so you can divide the different parts of a meal e.g. pudding and main course, or veg and protein, which encourages offering variety.

Holly: I found this product hard wearing, it survived the dishwasher and being thrown about on the floor with no damage done. The fact that the range is advertised as biodegradable is a big plus point, as so much of the baby world usually involves plastics. I liked the design, it was simple and fun and unisex. I whole range supported weaning from the beginning to children being able to feed themselves.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

Jodie: The plate was one of the best sized I have seen. Each section allowed for a decent amount of food to be added depending on the appetite of the little one and feels like it can be used for many years, not just for smaller ones. The same with the bowl, not a small bowl that would fail to be used as the child grew. The little spoons that came with it were a perfect size for small mouths and so soft to handle! No plastic cutlery that fades and scratches over time. Such a great design.

Paula: Yes I would. This range is reasonably priced and makes the perfect gift for any parent that has started weaning their baby. These products have different age ranges so you can pick and choose the perfect product to suit you and your child. They have a fun frog design which is gender neutral so it equally suits both boys or girls. The food doesn't leave stains or residue compared to other brands and when washed they always look like they are still new. The one thing really stands out for me is that they are eco friendly but mostly the price. Yes you can buy a plate or a bowl for £1, but after a couple of uses I find the pattern starts to bubble and peel so needs to be replaced. I would rather pay that little bit more so it lasts that little bit longer.

Holly: I liked this range as it has been designed to support the environment by being biodegradable and helps reduce the amount of plastics used in the baby industry. It has proved to be very hardy, making life much easier to just throw it in the dishwasher and to survive being chucked on the floor many times without a scratch. There are a few features that prevent it from being the most usable product for younger babies. For example, spoons are very deep, even an adult cannot use the spoon and remove all the food, they need to be much flatter. The bowl, although cute in design of a little frog, is very light, and would not last two seconds on my son’s highchair without being thrown to the floor. The sippy cup is designed well to suit babies grasp, however without a foldable/lockable watertight tip this cup can only be used at home and can not travel due to free flowing leaks.

What changes would you make to this product?

Elizabeth: I would add a suction base to the bowl, to avoid the almost inevitable throwing of the bowl on the floor in the early stages of weaning. Not having the suction bottom makes it a lot more difficult for baby-led weaning, where I want my baby to be able to explore what’s in their bowl themselves. My baby also finds the 6m+ spoons to be too deep, so it’s difficult to remove the food off the spoon properly, and grates her teeth on the bottom of the spoon.

Jodie: I would like to see some other options of designs in this product. I have a fussy toddler who sometimes refused to use the bowl or cup as he doesn’t like frogs! Having a closed beaker which was non spill would also have been a great addition, especially as you have an open top cup included. The beaker also felt very heavy for a little one when compared to some other beakers on the market.

Holly: I realise that adding non biodegradable elements goes against this products USP of being biodegradable, however this has had to be sacrificed to the sippy cup to create a watertight seal, I feel this should also have been extended to add a suction element to the plates and bowls to prevent babies from throwing them on the floor. Adding an element to the sippy cup that would allow it to travel without spilling would be beneficial.
