How did this product make your life easier?
Bina: The wonder tissue box was fantastic for my 9 month old as it kept her entertained much longer than a lot of her other toys making life easier as a mummy as she wasn't bored within 2 minutes then me having to give her another toy allowing me to do a little tidying around bubbas play. There is a lot of versatility as it is used as a tissue box but also for peek-a-boo games with the organza tissues, learning colours, counting and the concept of open and close, in and out. One toy serves a multitude of learning purposes and play, rather than needing 5 different toys to teach the above, saving space in the toy box.
Hannah: When we first opened the toy my daughter spent a long time working her way through the different pieces, finding out how it worked, looking at the different colours and the two that had tags on she played with for a longer time. When she pulled everything out she then spent time looking at the pictures on the box and trying to work out how to open it.
Emma: The wonder box has bought me so much baby free time, time to get jobs done or just sit and watch my baby play independently. It is small and portable enough to be taken out on picnics and playdates. The variety of fabrics, textures and colours are exciting and provide plenty of entertainment for him and his little friends
Would you recommend this to other parents?
Aleksandra: I would definitely recommend this product to others. It is a great sensory development toy for infants and toddlers. My 11 months old son loves playing with the box and pulling out the tissues from inside. It is very sturdy and you can easily remove the top of the box to put the tissues back inside. It is a great fun developmental toy that every baby would enjoy. It keeps my little one occupied for a good ten minutes (and he hates sitting still – so that tells you).
Kayleigh: I have recommended it to a group of mum friends but unfortunately the price puts them off, I think maybe £10-£15 would be a more catchful price. The design is great, lots of different colours and materials for babies to discover. The box is pretty sturdy which is great. Easy to clean as the box can be wiped over and the clothes could go in the washing machine in a laundry bag(haven't tried just putting them in incase they get ruined).
Emily: I would recommend this product to a friend/fellow mum as it has enabled me to get some housework done without having my children 'helping'. The scarves and sensory fabrics that come with it are great for exploring different sounds and textures and my children enjoy pulling the scarves out and using them to play peekaboo. The box can be easily wiped down and scarves rinsed which is useful with little children.
Would you choose this product above all others on the market?
Elsa: I would choose this as a winner as it is totally unique. I have never seen a product like this before and it has been really useful in many different ways for playtime, so has great usability/versatility. Suitable for a wide variety of ages. I like that it isn’t completely plastic, so is more environmentally friendly than other toys on the market. I scored slightly lower on design, as with a dribbling baby and one who likes to chew I wonder about the long term durability of the thick cardboard, though it is softer and lighter than a wooden box would be. However, the box lid was easy for my baby to remove. It was a bit fiddly to set up with a baby who is excited to get their hands on it and there are only 3 ways to display the tissues so once 3 are sticking out the rest aren’t pulled out easily, unless we set it up wrong. I also felt, as a parent, it was slightly more expensive than we would pay for an individual toy. It would be a toy we would ask others to buy us.
Hannah: I haven’t seen another product like this before so it’s very unique ! It is a very good sensory toy, the downfall we found was that the coloured squares probably would have been better with more to explore on them. Rattles, squeakers, different textures because there were only 2 that had different things on them the other 8 were all of the same fabric just different colours. We also found it to be quite expensive for what it was so adding in these extra things would give more value for money.
Bina: Definitely would choose this product over others. I feel it should win over others because it's a well thought out concept, something a bit different to the norm, well made generally, offers versatility in its play and can easily be adapted with bubba as she is growing older allowing us to use longer than a lot of other toys. The one thing that makes it stand out is that it is an everyday household item that toddlers love to demolish by yanking out all the tissues that has been turned into a toy allowing all the mischief of feeling like the bubbas are doing something they shouldn't be whilst encouraging play, motor skills, social skills and learning all in. I plan on buying them as gifts for other bubbas as we enjoyed playing with them so much.
What changes would you make to this product?
Aleksandra: The lid sometimes slips off the box and it doesn’t hold properly on some occasions. So it may be worth thinking about making the lid more sturdy or making it from different material so it would stay in place. It is quite pricey for a box of sensory tissues especially if the competition has the same sensor taff box for a significantly smaller price.
Emily: I would change how the lid connects to the box as it was difficult to attach properly and came unclipped very easily. My little boy often found when trying to pull the scarves out of the box the lid would pop off on one side and I'd have to re-clip it before he could carry on playing with the toy which could be frustrating for him.
Elsa: The lid was easy for my 10 month old to clip off and you could only put a few tissues in in a way they could be pulled out. If it had 4 not 2 small holes coming off the main hole, that would help. Or perhaps the addition of Velcro to the tissues so they could be pulled out one after the other? This would mean more tissues could be pulled out of the lid with the current design. It was also a bit fiddly to set up with a 10 month old trying to get to it! Slightly larger side holes would help.
