Trying to get comfortable while pregnant isn't always easy to do, but a pregnancy pillow can offer slight relief, and as a mum expecting her third baby I was really excited to test the Najell Pregnancy pillow.

Founded and based in Southern Sweden, Najell values creating long-lasting products that are not only durable on quality, but also in their appeal. Najell also creates products that have the least impact on the planet as possible.

Having only used U-shaped pregnancy pillows in my last two pregnancies, I was curious to see how the Najell Pregnancy pillow would differ or match up to the same support, comfort and ease of use.

Testing the Najell Pregnancy pillow

Whilst a lot of people might think you only need a pregnancy pillow for at night, they actually have so many benefits to being used during the day as well. Working from home and often having to travel as a passenger in the car for my sons' football games on the weekend, I really needed a pregnancy pillow that was not only comfortable to help me sleep but one that could also support me in the day.

Reading about the Najell Pregnancy Pillow, I was excited by the fact it could be easily adjusted with the two pillows inside and that it could also be used as a breastfeeding pillow when my baby arrived. Being halfway through my pregnancy, I was really keen to test the flexibility of this pregnancy pillow and also how durable it would be for day and night bump support.

Build

When the Najell Pregnancy Pillow first arrived, I was really impressed with its eco-friendly packaging and reusable bag that it arrived in. My first impressions of the pillow itself was it's incredibly soft and whilst it felt firm, I could squish the pillows which reassured me that it would mould to my bump.

As it's two pillows in one case, you can't really tell unless you make the cover longer by undoing and retying the knot. It was hard to find the right positioning for myself by doing this, and I found the first few times I'd left too big of a gap between the pillows, but with some persistence and adjustments I eventually got the right length that suited me.

Usability

This pregnancy pillow is really easy to use and adjust, and I found it really convenient to take around with me if needed. I found it to be large enough to support my full body, but then it also rolled up quite compact for if we needed to take it on the go.

My husband and I went for a night away for a wedding and I was really worried about not being able to take the pillow due to its size, but it rolled up really well into its storage bag and fit in my overnight bag with ease!

I really liked that the pillow can be adjusted too with just a simple knot. I found my last pregnancy pillow a bit of a pain because you couldn't make it bigger or smaller to suit whatever you needed and it was far too bulky to carry around!

Another thing I really liked about the Najell Pregnancy Pillow was the fact it was even comfortable to use in the car, and it didn't feel like it was taking up space on the seat, which made car journeys so much more comfortable for myself!

I've been using this pillow for almost three months now, and it still feels and looks as good as the day I first got it. I really think it will last the duration of my pregnancy, as well as when I give birth and feed my baby. This is a huge advantage of the adjustability of the pillow as it can still continue to be used even after giving birth!

Performance

As far as pregnancy pillows go, I really think the Najell Pregnancy Pillow ticks all the boxes. It looked really great and didn't feel like an eyesore when guests came over and it was on the sofa, and even my children liked to snuggle up into it when I wasn't using it.

The only issue is trying to adjust it to suit your bump, in the first week it did feel quite firm so it required a lot of squishing and repositioning to get it just right for my comfort, and to support my bump shape. I wouldn't say this is a major problem though as all bodies are different, so it's so much better to have a pillow you can adjust and manipulate to suit you and your bump than one that can't be adjusted.

I love that the Najell Pregnancy Pillow can be used to support bump and back in a C shape when you're laid down, as well as supporting your back when you're sat up. I've found just sitting on the sofa to be uncomfortable, so it's nice to be able to wrap it around myself like a rubber ring!

Final verdict

Overall, while it did take a little bit of time to adjust to the pillow for my own comfort, I found it to be really versatile and comfortable for supporting my bump through the night and during the day. I think it's really good value compared to some pregnancy pillow alternatives, especially in comparison the the U-shaped pillow I used to use, which, while it was cheaper, it didn't feel as supportive.
