I struggled with getting comfortable when I got just over halfway through my pregnancy, so when I was looking for a nursing chair, I wanted to consider an option that was not only going to be comfortable once my baby arrived but also one that would support my back throughout the rest of my pregnancy.

Testing the Tutti Bambini Jonah Rocking Chair

The Jonah Rocking Chair really impressed me and was exactly what I was looking for in a nursing chair. It has a high back design that’s suitable for supporting your back (and resting your head if needed), as well as a footstool for being able to put your feet up.

Tutti Bambini Jonah Rocking Chair with Footstool

I found that as this chair is a rocker rather than a recliner, that when you’re sitting you’re able to gently rock back and forth, but when you have your feet up on the foot stool it allows for you to recline. You can’t really rock the chair when your feet are up, but this isn’t that important considering you’re in more control of the rocking when your feet are on the floor.

The chair is one of the cheapest I’ve seen online for the size and aesthetic. It’s not as soft as I was expecting, but it’s a really practical material and I imagine it will be easy to clean as well. I feel safe when sat on the rocker, and there are no sharp bits on the chair, everything is smooth edged (including the wooden feet), so when my baby is eventually on the move she won’t be able to injure herself if she crawls near it.

Before moving it into the nursery, I did have this chair in my front room so that I could sit on it, and I found it extremely comfortable and supportive. I’m 5ft 10 and a size 16/18, but I think the size of the chair is perfect. I’ve spent a lot of time sat in it, and she’s not even here yet! I thought it was a little bulky at first, but when it’s sat in the corner it’s not really that big, and the Jonah Rocking Chair is a lot less bulky than other nursing chairs I looked it.

Final verdict

Overall I really loved this rocking chair. If fits perfectly with the theme of my baby’s nursery and I think it’s extremely good value for money considering how stylish and plush it looks. Considering my baby isn’t here yet either, I’ve spent a lot of time sat in this chair as it is just really comfortable to sit in, so I can’t wait for her to arrive and enjoy those newborn cuddles in it too.
