The Bamboo Birthing Shirt is soft, comfortable and versatile. Made from bamboo jersey (a mix of bamboo, organic cotton and spandex), the garment is stretchy, breathable and durable. It buttons down the front and offers quick access to breastfeeding and ‘skin on skin’ contact.

The length of this shirt is fantastic; it goes beyond the knees, which is great when you’re pregnant and feeling self conscious. The slits on the side are good for labour, and the shirt washes well too.

The colour range is not that exciting and although the material is nice and cool, mums who have their babies in summer might prefer straps to sleeves. It is also very baggy after birth and thus not entirely convenient, which brings into question its cost. It is an expensive product but the quality of the fabric and the shirt’s clever design will be worth the price for many mums.
