What they say:

“Easy to use with an innovative ergonomic design, the uniquely aerated and breathable cotton-poly knit is soft and stretches with movement and helps to regulate baby's body temperature. The Swaddler has a Healthy Hip Positioner to keep baby's legs and hips in an ergonomic position for healthy hip development, and positions arms in natural "hands to heart" position. With specially designed arm pockets and a leg positioner to keep the Swaddler from coming undone, the Swaddler also features a unique "removable leg pouch" for quick and easy nappy changes and allows for use with harness systems such as bouncers.”

Would you recommend the Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight to other mums?

I would recommend the Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight as I loved everything about it. From the time my son was born we swaddled him in blankets and as he was so small he could not wriggle out of them. Now he is 9 weeks old he needed something more secure. This swaddler is lightweight which is good in the heat and the material is super comfy for him and can be easily cleaned. It is easy to use; my 8 year old daughter figured it out without the instructions. I feel my son is safe sleeping in this swaddler.

How did this product make your life easier?

I can place my son in the Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight and feel at peace knowing he is secure whilst I do chores around the house. This has made things easier as he likes to be held close with his arms crossed and this ensures he is not always in my hands. The secure arm pockets make sure he is not startled and can sleep for longer periods. I am also at ease that the product has a hip positioner which is good for hip development

Would you choose this product to win?

The Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight ticks all the boxes for me and more, for a swaddler. It has been designed to cater for baby. I love that the arm pockets prevent my son from escaping and the material is lightweight and cool. My favourite part of thd product is the bottom pouch as I am able to change my son’s nappy without disturbing him too much. And this also is helpful for the hot or cold nights.

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn’t change anything in the usability or quality as I think the Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight is amazing. I would look at colour options; maybe they could come in blue, pink, yellow or green.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight to other mums, particularly if newborn babies when swaddling seems to aid sleep for babies. It is secure and safe and gave my baby confort when sleeping, reducing the number of times my baby woke during the night due to sudden movements during sleep. It is secure.

How did this product make your life easier?

A well-rested baby is a well-rested mummy and swaddling helps my baby to stay sleeping for longer periods of time during the night. It is designed with confort and safety in mind so I felt comfortable using it with my baby. It also makes great feeding easier as it aids positioning.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would like to see the product in different design but this is purely aesthetic and has no bearing on the quality or efficiency of the product. There is nothing else I would change as my baby responded well to it and she didn't break her swaddle during the night.

Tested by mum Emma Ward for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight to fellow mums because I found it very easy to use. I found that this was a stress-free way to swaddle, especially when you are a first-time mum. The instructions were very easy to read and follow. The fabric is nice and soft and breathable so you don't have to worry about your baby getting too hot. Easy access for nappies too which is great!

How did this product make your life easier?

Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight makes life easier as a mum because it is very easy to swaddle the baby, with just a few simple steps and Velcro to keep it in place. The part that covers the legs just pulls over them and makes nappie access incredibly easy so you don't have to open up the whole blanket and re-swaddle afterwards.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about this product it would be an option to have the arms free. This would also increase the longevity of the product as if your baby starts to prefer their arms being free then you could still use it.

Tested by mum Fran Reynolds for the M&B Awards 2017:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the Ergobaby Swaddler Lightweight because it is a lovely, soft fabric that looks nice and breathable even in warmer summery weather, therefore as a mum you're not worried that you're going to overheat your baby by swaddling in those early months. It swaddles baby nicely without being too tight.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product definitely made my life easier during the night, because it swaddles in such a way that you can still change baby's nappy without having to take the entire swaddle off. In fact, the upper half remains in place, thus helping to keep baby sleepy and meaning I could get her back to sleep quicker. Score! No faffing getting a now awake baby back into the swaddle. It also washed and dried quickly.

What changes would you make to this product?

I didn't like the colour of this swaddle, (grey) as it did make my little girl look very pale and washed out. Although this doesn't really matter for bedtime, it's nice if a product can also be aesthetically pleasing. I'd much prefer a warmer baby like colour, like cream or green if going neutral, or a more traditional gender specific colour like blue or pink.
