Testing KIT & KIN Magic Salve

Our parent testers were pretty impressed with this balm from KIT & KIN. Not only did it help soothe dry skin and nappy rash, but they were also pleased at how a little bit of product really went a long way. "Not only did this cream clear my son's nappy rash overnight, it also cleared his dry skin in days, I am so impressed with it," said mum Eloisa. "The fact it’s oil based too means you only need a little bit." Mum tester Hannah was also in agreement, she said: "I love all the natural ingredients, so I know it will be kind to my baby’s skin. It applies really well and smells gorgeous. It cleared up nappy rash overnight, which was fantastic and I’ve also used it as a moisturiser as it smells that lovely. A little goes a long way, so it lasts a long time too, which is great as it is a little on the pricey side."

Mum tester Louise even went beyond using this cream simply for nappy rash, she thought it was that good. "This magic salve is indeed magic," she said. "It's intended primarily for nappy rash, but we didn’t need it for that so much and it was great to use on heat rashes and sore cheeks where my son is teething terribly at the moment. It feels thick, like a barrier cream, but smoothes into skin without much effort and does not noticeably sit on top of the skin unlike other brands. It's also great on my elbows and hands."

Overall, our mum testers were impressed with the packaging, which they said was very "stylish", how easily the balm melted and soothed their little one's skin.

Final thoughts

Some of our mum testers did comment on this cream being a little on the pricey side, however, because you only needed to use a small amount they felt the product will last a longtime and therefore is worth the money. Other's were quite surprised that the product was fragranced, especially being a baby product, although none of our mum testers said this affected their baby's sensitive skin.

"This cream comes in a lovely tub with attractive labelling," said mum tester Sahra. "It has nice scent but is quite hard in its consistency. This surprised me as most baby creams are quite soft and therefore easier to put on. I found that I needed to warm this cream up a little between by fingers before applying it to my daughter. I was also surprised that it was scented as most baby things are not and this was also quite a strong scent. All that said, it went on my baby's skin really nicely and was very well tolerated by my daughter who has very sensitive skin."
