Here's what Lia, mum of two, thought of the ergoPouch Window Blockout Blinds.

The ergoPouch Window Blockout film at a glance:

The Ergopouch block out film comes as three sheets of white film which can be cut to size to fit a nursery window. The film provides a total light block to help babies who prefer to sleep in complete darkness, and because it can be cut to shape so you can ensure there are no gaps for light to come through.

How did this product make your life easier?

The days are beginning to get shorter and knowing that an early sunrise tends to lead to an early baby-waking - I was keen to be prepared! The film was very easy to cut to shape and to hang, and it clings to the window very well. Having a room of total darkness helps my toddler settle to sleep quickly in the evening, and also helps prevent his early rising.

Would you recommend this to other parents?

If you'd like to avoid the cost of purchasing and installing made to measure blackout curtains or blinds, this is a good alternative. It may not be the most attractive permanent feature for your home, and so maybe it is better suited for the occasional stay at grandparents, as it can be taken down and reused. It does the job well and I found that it sticks to our double glazed windows evenly, however, I expect this may not be as easy if your windows are not completely flush or have lead detail.

Would you choose this product above all others on the market?

I think this is dependant on which kind of product you are looking for. Personally, I prefer the visual of heavy curtains, particularly in the bedroom, however, if total darkness is more important to you then this is a great option.

What changes would you make to this product?

Making the sheets themselves a little bigger could be beneficial for those with one large window pane. Also if you happen to have more than one window, or are looking to use these on multiple windows, it can get a little pricey. I struggled a little with cutting the film perfectly straight and I wonder if some fine dotted lines could help with this (similar to guided lines on wrapping paper).
