At a glance:
When your little one needs to use a potty- simply unfold, use it, then fold it back up. The Tron Disposable Travel Potty will fit easily in your bag, it's lightweight, and can absorb 250ml of liquid within 30 seconds.
How did the Tron Disposable Travel Potty make your life easier?
Karen: The Tron Disposable Travel Potty is compact, light and easy to pop into a bag for potty time on the go. The product is a single-use item that is to be disposed of the following use. Due to the lightweight nature of the product, it is made essentially of cardboard, you can really forget that you are carrying it around. It can be a permanent feature in your bag without causing extra bulk meaning one less thing to pack and one less thing to worry about. The product is easy to use and child-friendly, my LG was happy to sit on it as if it was a regular potty.
Julie: The Tron Disposable travel potty was well packaged, small and lightweight so it's ideal for putting in your bag. I would say this would be very helpful where there were no toilets available whilst camping, for example, the fact it is biodegradable is great. The liner pad absorbed the wee really quickly and the whole potty folded up on itself after use made for easy disposal.
Christine: I found the idea of this travel potty a really interesting one - it was small and easily portable so it fits easily in a changing bag. It was easy to use though it did take about a minute to put together - I'm sure this would be faster with repeated use. It could be used pretty much anywhere and had a very wide range of potential applications. I found it particularly liberating in the earlier stages of potty training when a child might not be able to hold until a convenient time.
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Niamh: I would recommend the Tron Disposable Travel Potty to someone who attends lots of festivals throughout the year. The design is easy to fold into your bag and to get out and put together. It is a very clean design so easy to be as hygienic as possible. It's easy to understand and use as well as simple to dispose of after use. It also has a lost of alternatives it can be used for when out and about.
Anna: This potty is great to keep in a handbag or a changing bag in case of an emergency as it is so compact. It is well designed and easy to use. I felt confident that the contents wouldn't leak when I needed to take it away with me to find a bin. I would however only use this potty in an emergency due to the high cost per use. My toddler is currently at the stage where he might need to go to the toilet twice when we are out and he isn't yet comfortable with sitting on a toilet. I don't feel I could justify the expense of using this potty twice a day when there are other equally effective but much more cost-effective products on the market.
Natasha: It was very hygienic for a potty and it was a single-use and easily to disposable after my little girl had been for the toilet. The potty was already folded and at a great size to go into the changing bag, it was a little bit fiddly when in a rush to set it up as my little girl doesn’t give much notice on needing the toilet.
Would you choose this product to win?
Clair: I would not choose this. I found it to be quite useless and pointless. My toddler daughter did not take to it and did not enjoy using it. I didn't feel confident in being able to carry it around for fear of the contents spilling out. I've seen other travel potties which are much sturdier and close better and are of better quality and I would choose them above this product.
Sally: I don't think the Tron disposable potty should win, because there are other folding travel potties on the market which are reusable with just the bag being disposable, and therefore being better value for money, as opposed to being single-use which is what the Tron is. It is still a great product, it's just the single-use element which really lets it down. I would suggest having replaceable liners to make the cardboard frame multiple-use whilst still being environmentally friendly.
Kirsty: Would I choose this product above all others? I think I would, to be honest. It’s much better than pull-ups because children can get confused because they feel just like a nappy. It's compact and discreet enough to not know what you’re doing, it’s easy to dispose of, and the price is very good for the quality of the product.
What changes would you make to this product?
Christine: I think the price does limit how much I would use it. I appreciate it is good quality and has a very clever design. As a result it must cost a significant amount to produce. Some may be able to afford to use lots of these disposable potties, but at this price it would make me think twice before using one.
Karen: I would prefer for there to be a different wrapping on the product to make it more environmentally friendly, but otherwise given the nature of the product it is difficult to see what could be changed, it is a single-use product that does what it says, but I do not consider it to be an enduring potty training device for these reasons.
Anna: I would definitely be more inclined to buy this product if it was cheaper. If there was a way to reuse the cardboard frame for a few uses and just replace the lining each time, the cost per use would likely be reduced. I would be tempted to buy one or two of the potties to keep in my car or bag in case of an emergency, but for day to day use, due to the high cost per use involved, I will continue using a plastic seat system with replaceable liners.
