Testing the Anex Basic IQ Stroller

I’m a first-time mum and I had been looking for a high-quality, lightweight pram.

It’s no secret that getting out of the house with a newborn can be a challenge so one of the main things I tested for was the ease of folding and handling the set to get it in and out of the car. Comfort will also be key in keeping our little passenger happy while we’re out and about, so another thing we tested for was how smoothly the pram runs along different terrains.

Due to the compact and lightweight design, the Anex IQ Basic is best suited to parents ‘on the go’ who travel regularly and require something easy to transport.

The set was delivered in a surprisingly small box and came with a handy maintenance manual and warning booklet with health and safety information. Assembly was mostly self-explanatory but made easier with visual instructions at any trickier points. It only took 20 minutes or so to unpackage it all and put it together which was really impressive.

Unlike alternatives on the market, lots of the components of the pram slot together and can be adjusted using a magnet system which makes it super easy to assemble. There are two sets of wheels to choose from depending on your preference as well, and the handle height can also be easily adjusted to make it comfortable for someone of any height.

The design I tested was in a black leather fabric which is sleek and easy to clean. With an Autumn baby, this meant it was well suited to the damp environment, but I would have concerns about the suitability of this fabric during the hot summer months with the sun blazing down on it due to babies easily overheating. The hood of the carrycot and seat does have a ventilation system which can be opened to allow a breeze through; however, I wasn’t able to test this thoroughly due to the time of year it was tested.

The set looks nice and sleek and offers everything you could need for the first few years. It comes with a rain cover and matching rucksack which is stylish and can be easily attached to the pram when out and about. There is ample secure storage in the pram base for carrying bags, coats and additional items when out and about.

I found it really easy to use. There are lots of impressive features about this pushchair that make it stand out from others on the market.

Final verdict

I thought that this was a really sturdy 2-in-1 stroller and buggy that feels very safe to use and comfortable for both a baby and toddler. From wheels to handle height, it offers adjustments for comfort in multiple ways, which is ideal when alternating between parents pushing or other family members. It was incredibly easy to move around, pushing required minimal effort which was a help on hills and the break is easy to access and put on and off.

Overall a strong performance and a product I would recommend for parents on the go.
