Where sophisticated, reliable baby/toddler transportation is required, Nuna always delivers. The Nuna TRVL lx pushchair has proven to be a sturdy and comprehensive pushchair that proves you don’t have to sacrifice quality for style.

A more robust version of its sister pushchair, the Nuna TRVL, the TRVL lx has a slightly better functionality. Whether you're running errands in town or exploring the countryside on a weekend escape, at the touch of a button the Nuna TRVL lx pushchair folds itself into a compact package that stands on its own making it a convenient travel pushchair too and a trusted companion for travel, for both car journeys and planes.

Not only that, but it's also ultra-lightweight and easy to carry thanks to the handy carry strap or push bar. It also doesn't matter if it's raining as the rain cover will protect your child from the elements while you're on the move.

Testing the Nuna TRVL lx

Here's how our tester Laura got on with the Nuna TRVL lx...

I’m an auntie to a two-year-old nephew who I babysit regularly and often take out and about. He’s outgrown his pram so we were looking for a sturdy, high quality alternative to keep for when we are out adventuring.

After having a really positive experience using the Nuna Mixx Next Generation Arra 360 Bundle (pram set), we knew Nuna would be our ‘go to’ brand for a stroller. We were looking for something that offered the same durability and reliability as our original set but was more compact and lightweight.

Anyone who is used to travelling out and about with a toddler knows how challenging it can be and how many factors need to be considered when ordering a stroller. Between his nappies, snacks and toys, there’s lots to carry around and therefore one of the key things we tested this product for was under-seat storage, which it offers in abundance. Not only that, but there is also a handy strap to help secure bags under the seat so that nothing falls out along the way.

Our nephew is a bit of an escape artist too, so another key factor for us was the resilience of the straps and buckle-in system. The Nuna TRVL lx pushchair delivered on this front and, despite his best efforts, he was unable to manoeuvre his way out of the seat.

If you are looking to step away from a huge pram set that takes up most of the space in the boot, but still want to keep lots of the perks of a pram set such as storage, this is a great option. It would be suited to people situated in a city/town as it runs smoothest on pathways.

Easy to slot together – I was able to do this without reading the instructions. The pieces clipped in together with ease and it was all fairly self-explanatory.

The design is sleek and sophisticated. The fabric and leather touches look high end and good quality. There are lots of features built in to provide comfort to your little one, whether it be the adjustable leg rest or the zip-open sun flaps to provide air through the fabric on a hot day. As mentioned previously, it has also been built very practically with plenty of secure storage underneath.

However, in our experience there are also some design flaws. Although the handle for pushing the stroller is at a comfortable height, the sun visor/stroller roof when pulled back rests on the handle and bashes against your knuckles as you walk. This proved quite uncomfortable after a while and there was no option to adjust the height of the handle to avoid this. Another improvement we found that could be made to the design is that there are only two settings for the seat backing – it is either rather upright or laid back, and it isn’t that easy to switch between the two.

Compact and easy to fold down. Fits easily into a car boot and has a handy carry case. Looks great and offers great storage.

This is a sturdy pushchair that feels very safe to use and comfortable for a toddler. As it is a stroller, the wheels are smaller than a pram and therefore it didn’t feel as smooth to push when taken through fields/off path as our previous Nuna set. It was incredibly easy to move around, pushing required minimal effort, the break is easy to access and put on and off. Overall a strong performance.

There are lots of impressive features about this pushchair that make it easy to use and stand out from others on the market. For maximum value you are best to review the user guide to make the most of all these features.

Final verdict

Sleek, sturdy and stylish, the Nuna TRVL lx pushchair is a great option for anyone looking for a compact yet comprehensive pram replacement. Whilst it’s on the expensive side and has some minor design flaws, overall it delivers as a reliable and practical day-to-day solution for families on the go.
