Testing the Nuna TRVL

This stylish self-folding stroller opens and closes with one-hand, is free-standing compact fold, ultra-lightweight and easy to carry with the arm bar when folded. Made for being on the move, our testers agreed it was ideal for travel:

"My daughter really liked this pram, which is very useful when dealing with a strong willed toddler. Seeing at it is sold as a travel pushchair we thought it made sense to test it on our holiday to see how good it was when flying. The pram is light and maneuverable. The fold mechanism is slick and able to be genuinely operated one handed. The apparent lack of clip of other means of closure concerned us and we took a belt with us to keep it closed when being thrown about by baggage handlers. The pram worked well for naps on the go. The air vents and fabric colour and choice allowed our daughter to keep cooler in the Greek heat. Overall we liked the pram and would recommend it."

"We used this buggy both at home as part of our regular day to day walks to the park and nursery and for a trip abroad. This is a great travel pushchair that is comfortable for every day use, whilst lightweight and compact enough to be great for travel. Its easy to collapse and handle - more so than other brands I've tried before."

The magnetic buckle also made our testers lives easier. One parent commented: "We really liked the strap clip to strap the child in, it was much easier to use than our current one, no fiddling just nice and simple. The peep hole in the top was also really handy as I didn’t need to walk round to the front to check on baby.

"On the second time I used this, I was carrying my baby and putting the buggy down to pop it in the boot (one handed) a passerby shouted ‘You can tell you’ve done that before!’ little did they know it was my second time! It really is that easy! The fact you can really open it with one just one hand is great. It is so lightweight too. In every single way it makes my life easier."

Final thoughts

While it folds into a compact, easy to carry package, some testers mentioned the addition of a clip to keep it all in place when folded would have been useful. Although once closed it doesn’t tend to reopen unless you hold the handlebar, if it had a clip it would help with storage as it wouldn’t accidentally open if it fell over. If you love the TRVL but want something a little more robust, then the Nuna TRVL lx might be a better option for you.

Nuna TRVL product FAQs

Can you take the TRVL on an airplane?

You can enjoy the use of the TRVL stroller up to the gate, then place in the included carry bag to check it at the gate! Gate check allows you to use your stroller throughout the airport right up until the moment before boarding, and to pick up the stroller upon exiting the plane. Or you can check with your airline ahead of time to see if the TRVL will fit into the overhead bin. The dimensions of the TRVL stroller are 24*x 20.25 x 11.

What is the weight limit of the TRVL?

The TRVL can be used from birth to 50lbs. NUNA recommends that the TRVL be used with a PIPA series infant car seat until the child is able to sit up unaided (usually around 6 months old), and then they graduate to the stroller seat.
