Testing the Out'n'About GT Double

The Out’n’About GT Double is an ultra compact, lightweight double buggy and ideal for everyday use. With a compact design for an effortless push and quick, compact fold, you can easily get about even with two small children.

Our parent testers agreed the compact fold made their lives easier, one tester said: "My girls are 6 months and 2 and a half. I was pleasantly surprised at how light the buggy is, it is very easy to fold. Both girls were comfy, my baby fell asleep on the first walk out with it although her legs weren’t long enough for her feet to reach the footrest but it didn’t seem to bother her.

"My tall 2 year old was comfortable but I’m not sure how long she would be as her knees were quite high when she put her feet on the footrest. I think this buggy would be ideal for twins from around 5/6 months to about 2 years old (although you can purchase carry cots for infants too)The seats are pretty close together and my older daughters legs were definitely encroaching into my baby’s space, I could foresee some arguing if you had two toddlers in there. I like how the handle is quite narrow and has lots of height options, the wheels are great and it pushes really easily."

With its 10″ EVA wheels and height adjustable handle it will make light work of any journey. "The wheels and great steering were ideal for sandy parks, woodland walks and grass. The fold is easily done 1 handed. I like the window in the hood to check on my youngest and the hoods are large for good coverage."

When comparing the GT Double to other Out N About prams this reviewer said: "I have the Out n About Nipper Double and the GT single already which I love. I love the smaller design of the GT Double as it still fits the children in well and fits around shops and down paths well. It’s got the same set up as the other Out n About pushchairs which I love. The colours the fabrics are really good and easy to clean too. The wheels are fabulous on the pushchair and I’m not worried about getting a puncture at all and it’s got a good size basket underneath too which comes in handy when on walks too. I think the Nipper is easier to push on grass than the GT and I think the raincover should be a little longer to cover the feet a bit better on the children. But overall I love this pushchair and think it’s a very good pushchair for the market and just what Out n About were missing."

Final verdict

One thing some reviews mentioned was the lack of storage space, they felt the basket could be larger for the size of the buggy. Because it is so lightweight you can't really hang shopping from the handle as it will tip over. As the seats are fixed in place there's no option to parent face, so this was also suggested as an improvement.
