The Stokke® YOYO³ is the stroller of every travel-loving parent’s dreams—practical, sleek, and perfect for every adventure, big or small.

I’m a mum to a very busy one-year-old who’s already been to 17 countries! Our little family loves to wander, whether it’s strolling through city streets, catching a tram, or taking off to explore new places. We needed a stroller that could keep up with our lifestyle, handle everyday use, and still keep our little one cosy and safe on the move.

I must admit that I have a soft spot for anything that combines practicality with style, so when I heard about the new Stokke® YOYO³, I had to try it. I figured, if it could survive our kind of daily chaos and still look good, it’s a winner. And let me tell you—it has more than delivered!

From its compact fold to its smooth manoeuvrability, the Stokke® YOYO³ has been everything I’d hoped for. It’s lightweight and travel-friendly without skimping on safety or comfort. If you’re a fellow parent who loves to get out there (or just needs a stroller that makes daily life easier), here’s my honest take on why the Stokke® YOYO³ could be the perfect fit for you, too.

Pros of the Stokke® YOYO³

Compact and cabin approved stroller

At just 6.2 kg, the Stokke® YOYO³ is exceptionally lightweight. It folds down to a very compact size that makes it easy to store, carry, and fit into small spaces—even overhead compartments on airplanes! For travel enthusiasts like me, this feature alone is a game-changer.

Enhanced shock absorption

Stokke has upgraded the shock absorption on the Stokke® YOYO³ wheels, providing a smoother ride on various terrains. This makes it ideal for those cobblestone streets in Europe or uneven sidewalks in urban areas. You and your little one will both enjoy a smoother experience.

Slim design for easy manoeuvring

Navigating tight spaces is effortless with the Stokke® YOYO³’s slim frame. From bustling sidewalks to cosy cafes and packed public transport, you’ll appreciate how easily this stroller manoeuvres through crowds without taking up too much space.

Convenient pocket at the back

As parents, we know that every little detail matters, and the Stokke® YOYO³ truly shines in this department, especially for travel-savvy families. One feature that I really appreciate is the handy pocket at the back—perfect for stashing essentials like my phone, keys, or snacks for quick access.

Shoulder strap

Plus, when it’s time to fold it up and head out, the Stokke® YOYO³ comes with a convenient shoulder strap, making it super easy to carry over my shoulder. These thoughtful touches really show just how much this stroller is designed with traveling parents in mind.

Quality that feels secure

Even though it’s lightweight, the Stokke® YOYO³ doesn’t feel flimsy. Made from aluminium, stainless steel, and high-performance plastics, it’s designed to be durable, giving you peace of mind that your little is safe, no matter the terrain or weather.

Versatile for all ages

With the option to add a newborn pack, this stroller can truly grow with your child from birth until around age four (or up to 22 kg). It’s a long-term investment that eliminates the need for multiple strollers.

Cons of the Stokke® YOYO³

Limited recline options

The YOYO 3 seat has only two reclining positions and does not fully recline. While these settings work well for most outings, they may not be ideal for parents whose children prefer a flat recline for naps.

Modest shopping basket size

Although the basket can now hold up to 10 kg, it’s still on the smaller side compared to full-sized strollers. If you’re a parent who carries a lot of extras, you may need additional storage solutions, like Stokke’s YOYO bag attachment.

Non-adjustable handlebar

The handlebar height is fixed, which may be uncomfortable for particularly tall or shorter parents. This may be a deal-breaker if you’re hoping for ergonomic customisation.

Harness straps can tangle

The harness straps, while secure, tend to get tangled, which can be frustrating when you’re in a hurry or trying to get a wriggling toddler settled quickly.

No footrest

One thing I did notice as a downside is the lack of a footrest. While it might not be something older kids miss, my one-year-old definitely enjoys having his feet up, so I found it a bit inconvenient that the Stokke® YOYO³ doesn’t come with one. While there is a footrest available as an add-on, I do wish it was included as part of the original package. It’s a small but important feature, especially for toddlers who like a little extra comfort during rides!

Not straightforward to assemble

Another downside was putting it together—I had a bit of a struggle and ended up watching a YouTube video because the manual was pretty confusing.

It's not an easy fold

Also, folding it isn’t as easy as I hoped; it takes a bit more effort than just one simple step. But overall, I'm really happy with it and love the luxe vibe it adds to our daily outings!

Testing the Stokke® YOYO³: My real-world experience

Usability

The Stokke® YOYO³ shines in both convenience and stability. Despite being lightweight, it feels sturdy, making it suitable even for places with unpredictable weather, like Scotland. It’s easy to open and close, carry, and store, making it ideal for parents juggling a busy lifestyle or catching the next flight.

Comfort for little ones

My son absolutely loves the Stokke® YOYO³. He seems genuinely comfortable, thanks to the smooth ride and snug seat padding. For parents, pushing this stroller feels smooth and effortless, almost like the stroller equivalent of a luxury car!

Manoeuvrability and stability

Navigating different terrains with the Stokke® YOYO³ has been a pleasant surprise. Whether we’re in a busy city or walking on a dirt trail, the improved shock absorption and slim design make it easy to manoeuvre, even with one hand. And it’s so stable, I rarely worry about bumps or holes in the path.

Aesthetic appeal

The Stokke® YOYO³is one good-looking stroller! I chose the Toffee colour, which is absolutely stunning and feels perfect for autumn and personal style. For parents who care about style, this stroller delivers—it’s sleek and modern without compromising on durability.

Perfect balance of design and functionality

One of the standout features for me is the perfect balance of design and functionality. The Stokke® YOYO³ retains the iconic compact design of its predecessors, but with several thoughtful enhancements that make it even more parent and baby-friendly. It features improved ventilation and a convenient peek-a-boo window, allowing me to keep an eye on my little one while we're out and about. Plus, the extended canopy provides superior sun protection—something I really appreciate during those sunny days or when my son snoozes and needs a bit of privacy.

Portability

When it comes to portability, the Stokke® YOYO³ truly shines. It’s lightweight, folds and unfolds in a flash, and is incredibly compact when folded—so compact, in fact, that it fits into the overhead compartment of an aeroplane. As a parent who’s always on the move, I can’t tell you how much I love this travel-friendly feature!

A pram that grows with your little one

And perhaps my favourite part—the Stokke® YOYO³ is ready to grow with your family. It can be used from newborn stage all the way through toddlerhood, with various options to ensure comfort from day one. This stroller is not just a short-term investment; it’s built to last as my little one grows!

How did this product make your life easier?

The Stokke® YOYO³has been a lifesaver in so many ways. It makes everything from quick city errands to international travel easier and more enjoyable. The overhead compartment compatibility means I never have to worry about checking it at the gate, and the compact fold saves precious space in our flat. Knowing that this stroller will last until my son is around four years old has also given me a sense of long-term value that’s hard to beat.

What changes would you make to this product?

While the Stokke YOYO 3 is nearly perfect, there are a few tweaks that could make it even better. First off, I think the assembly instructions could be a bit more straightforward. As parents, we’ve got a million things on our minds, so clearer, simpler guidance would make setting up the stroller a breeze.

Another improvement I’d love to see is the inclusion of a footrest as a standard feature. While there’s an add-on available, it would be ideal if it came with the stroller out of the box, especially for little ones who love kicking back and relaxing during rides.

Additionally, I’d dream of having the seat recline fully flat. It would be a fantastic option for naps, especially for younger children who need to lie back completely. The shopping basket could also use a bit more space. While it’s handy, a larger basket would make it easier to carry more of those essentials every parent inevitably ends up hauling around.

Must-have add-ons:

Available for around £30, it’s totally worth the investment if your child likes to kick back and relax during strolls.

This is essential, especially for the UK weather!

Perfect for those chilly days or winter months when you want to keep your little one extra cosy and snug.

This is a game-changer for extra storage! It adds up to 10 kg of additional space without affecting the stroller’s balance, making it perfect for those times you need to carry a little more.

Final verdict

The Stokke® YOYO³ is an excellent choice for parents who want one stroller to cover all stages of childhood. It’s durable, beautifully designed, and practical for both daily life and travel adventures. Despite a few minor areas for improvement, the YOYO 3 offers a balance of quality, convenience, and longevity that’s hard to find elsewhere. If you’re looking for a reliable, stylish stroller that grows with your child, the Stokke YOYO 3 is one I wholeheartedly recommend—it’s truly been a dream stroller for our family, and it just might be for yours too.
